We hugged tight, time stopped, tears fell from my eyes, we started laughing and crying all together 😭🤗😂 We couldn’t believe it. . It’s happening! The project that started in a piece of paper is going to see the light 💡 and start impacting millions of lives worldwide 🌎 . Nomad Journal App is a personal journal for nomads created by nomads. Good & Sad news!! Una de cal y una de arena... . 😰During those 2.5 hours where Fran was being interrogated many thoughts crossed our minds, and one of them was the possibility of not being able to get reunited with @amyhiroki to continue our adventures with her. Thanks to everyone who took the time to message and send some positive vibes. It really helped a lot during these stressful moments. We love you!! 💛 . 👍🏽 The good news is... US migration let Fran in and we’ll be able to get reunited with @amyhiroki . 👎🏽The sad news... they only gave her two weeks (although Fran showed all the proof and papers needed and gave all the explanations and everything is as it should. I guess they’re not used to nomads or solo female traveler or independent women🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽) So we need to make new decisions... . A) Do we stay and find a way for Fran to stay legally in USA so we can fulfill use our dream of exploring the 50 states of USA? B) Leave US, postpone the 50 states, and pursue other dreams of ours? (There’s still so many countries in the world and many other dreams to fulfill) . After living for 4 months in Grenada, it’s time to leave for a new adventure! 🤩 . These 4 months were more than what we expected. How are you able to manage your expenses while traveling full-time? 💵 . We get this question a lot - so here are some insights to help you make it happen if that’s what you want 😎 . Our biggest travel expenses are accommodation, next is transportation (e.g. airfare, car rentals, gas, bus), then food. If you keep these three to a minimum, you'll realize that travel expense is very manageable and traveling full time is very possible. Here’s how we do it: . ✈️ We mainly use public transportation and for flights, we use miles. We haven’t paid for international flight since 2018. (It’s called “travel hacking” - we have a blog about it in our website, link in bio @maptheunknown) 🛍We buy from local markets and mostly cook our own. 🏡 We do a mix between #vanlife (@amyhiroki is waiting for us to take her on an adventure again) and house sitting which allow us to save up a lot on accommodation. Collecting memories, learning new skills, and always having fun with you 💛 . Since we embarked ourselves into this #nomadiclifestyle we learned many new sports and did a bunch of things we never thought we would. There were many moments where we felt like kids again… outside, playing or doing some type of activity. It’s a great feeling! Living this traveling lifestyle the past 4 years is definitely been our most active life as an adult. 🏄🏽‍♀️ We surfed in the Philippines and Indonesia. 🪁 We kitesurfed (or tried our best 🤣) in Dominican Republic. 🤿 We scuba dive in The Philippines, Hawaii, and Grenada. 🏐 And, the past month we’ve been playing volleyball every week here in Grenada. Grenada has very calm waters so not a lot of water-sport options that’s why we’re very happy to have found a very fun volleyball group. . What do you like to do when traveling?
