Purple Porto. Porto, a city which I wish I would have visited earlier. Lisbon’s younger more beautiful sister, with a charming personality carried by all the locals who were so friendly! This photo was grabbed on the first and only night we took the camera out, in fact this shot was from the bar at the hotel we stayed at. Until next time Porto (soon). #porto #portugal #portobridge #ironbridge #purplehaze #cityscape #landscapephoto #nikonz7 #summer2021 #portoportugal #tram #sunsetlovers #selfemployedlife #prophotographer #commercialphotographer

We usually dont drive at night when road tripping but this time we decided for a night drive to Portugal to start our holiday. The night was clear and whilst passing Jerez de los Caballeros, Badajoz, we found ourselves driving through a landscape untouched by ambient artificial light. Even whilst driving we could see the Milky Way with the naked eye. So not one to miss a photo op I pulled over in a layby and grabbed the gear. This was my first attempt, I grabbed a couple more but I think this one really shows the beauty! The foreground was lit by the cars brake lights (something I always like to do as it gives the foreground an umph). #milkywaychasers #milkyway #astrophotography #jerezdeloscaballeros #spain #summer2021 #roadtripping #roadtrippers #segui #neverstopshooting #1424mm #nikonz7

Another shot ticked off the "Photo Bucket List", not quite the high tide I was hoping for but I couldn't book that through the www. 😂😂 In the small seaside village of Miramar, along the spectacular coastline of Portugal, sits a tiny chapel perched on top of a rock known as Capela do Senhor da Pedra (“Chapel of the Lord of the Stone”). While the church itself dates back to 1686, the rock upon which it sits has been a place of worship for more than two millennia. Originally, the giant boulder jutting into the sea was the site of ancient pagan worship where rituals were once performed, and today, neopagans continue to make an annual pilgrimage to the sacred site. Prior to the building of the Capela do Senhor da Pedra, a pagan temple stood on the rock, indicating that the site was ritually significant even before the coming of Christianity. It is not known to which deity the temple was dedicated, though one may guess that he/she would have been associated with the sea. The existence of this pagan temple is attested by the inscription on the two blue and white azulejo mosaics framed on the sides of the wooden entrance of the chapel. Portugal has some of the oldest megaliths in Europe, and there is much evidence of varied Pagan cults and places of worship. Early in the first millennium BC, several waves of Celts arrived in Portugal from Central Europe and intermarried with the local populations to form several different ethnic groups. They dominated much of northern and central Portugal; but in the south they were unable to establish their stronghold, which retained its non-Indo-European character until the Roman conquest. #seascape #landscape #portugal #chapelofthelordofstone #capeladosenhordapedra #nikonz7 #lowtide #sunset #summer2021 #selfemployedlife #prophotographer #commercialphotographer

Time to share with you some recent work with @theeliottgibraltar & @skytechgib . A few shots of some bar side drinks to get your taste buds going! For this setup the background setup took much longer than capturing the actual drink itself. A selection of colorful bottles illuminated with a speedlight always creates some cool sparkle. To really make it pop I used a wide aperture to create just the right size bokeh.
