I still can’t believe this happened to me.. for the first time in my life, I swam with humpback whales🐋 It was the most magical breathtaking moment I will never forget. This two whales are a couple💞 the one showing the stomach is a female and she looks so beautiful and relaxed☺️Meeting the Whale was always my dream. a whale is a lucky symbol for me. I’ll dream about whales when I’m in my good times. I’m so thankful for my life.

ピンク色の卵が放出される瞬間は とても神秘的で穏やかな気持ちになりました😌 Once a year, the full moon and the warm temperature of the ocean create a magical phenomenon of the birthing of coral. Witnessing the birthing of the coral reefs made me feel one with nature and created a stillness in my heart🤍 Photo & video by me:)) #希子の海物語

いつもありがとう❤️ ✴︎✴︎✴︎ 2025 had me asking a lot of questions. It started with a fire, then time with family in Busan, visiting my ancestors, lots of laughter and fun times with close friends, Going back to Kobe, and being grounded by music and nature, as always❤️ Some things I thought were solid turned out not to be. My perspective shifted, and I’m grateful for the new ways of seeing and feeling. I was lucky to meet great people and do meaningful work, and finally joined a Vipassana meditation retreat I’d been curious about for a long time. I learned about impermanence — anicca — not by thinking about it, but by feeling it in my body. A year of looking inward, and noticing how strange and beautiful life can be. 2026 feels like it’s going to move fast. It’s my zodiac year, so I’m planning to run — and have fun 🐴 Thanks always.❤️

I feel truly honored to have been part of this very special project — the creation of Ocean Gaia, an underwater sculpture by Jason Decaires Taylor @jasondecairestaylor , now resting in the beautiful ocean of my beloved Tokunoshima 🌊🤍 This project has been in the making for nearly two years. So many hearts, hands, and hopes came together to bring this vision to life. The sculpture lies gently on the seabed, just a short distance from the shore, at a depth of 5 meters. It was created in the image of my calm expression, standing 2 meters tall, 5.5 meters wide, and weighing 45 tons — the very first large-scale underwater sculpture ever installed in Japan. As part of the coral reef, the piece features openings that allow fish and other marine life to move freely in and out, making it not only a work of art but also a new home for the ocean’s ecosystem. Its soft, swirling form was inspired by the intricate sand patterns created by Amami Hoshizara puffer fish🐡, as well as the gentle curves of the island’s mountain range. Tokunoshima is known for its longevity, vibrant birth rate, and deep connection to nature. The mountain ridge at the island’s center resembles the silhouette of a pregnant woman — a symbol of life itself. Ocean Gaia was born from the Gaia myth, embodying the bond between people and the sea, and celebrating the cycle of life 🌿 As more young people leave the island for the cities, my hope is that this piece will spark a renewed connection to the ocean, nature, and culture for the next generation. And maybe, it will inspire more people to fall in love with the sea and look more closely at the natural world around us ❤️ Being underwater and seeing Ocean Gaia for the first time as it began to breathe with the ocean was unforgettable — a truly special birthday memory I’ll carry with me forever. I can’t wait to watch how this sculpture slowly becomes part of the reef, a home for coral and marine life, and how its story will be woven into the ocean over time 🌊✨ Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone in Tokunoshima.

Finally she’s in!!! Installed on October 14th, 2025, Ocean Gaia rests 5 metres beneath the surface off Tokunoshima, Japan — the nation’s first underwater sculpture. Weighing 45 tons and spanning 5.5 metres, it features a serene portrait of Kiko Mizuhara, @i_am_kiko becoming both artwork and living reef. Echoing the rhythms of the sea and the island’s maternal landscape, Ocean Gaia celebrates healing, connection, and the ocean as the original womb of life. 🌊✨ #OceanGaia #UnderwaterArt #Tokunoshima #KikoMizuhara #PublicArt #EnvironmentalArt #Sculpture #MarineArt #ArtAndNature #underwatersculpture #underwatermuseum #jasondecairestaylor
