Saddam Amushelelo

Freedom or Death I Saddam AMUSHELELO would hereby like to inform the world that it has come to my realization that my life means nothing, if my life meant anything to anyone then there would be thousands of people in-front of the prison gates every single day demanding for my freedom. It is for that reason seeing that I have been abandoned by the people, I am left with no other choice but to fight for my own freedom. Due to my limited options in prison, I have to undergo an inhumane process of self torture as the only means at my disposal to fight for my freedom. I have embarked on a HUNGER STRIKE and I only have one demand and that is my freedom. I will remain on HUNGER STRIKE until I have obtained my freedom. If I have to die in order to attain my freedom then so shall it be, the way I see it, the government can either start preparing my release from prison or my death certificate but either way I refuse to continue being a political prisoner. Perhaps in DEATH my life would have more meaning. All I ask of you reading this is to share this post every single day. Revolutionary Greetings SADDAM AMUSHELELO Political Prisoner Windhoek Central Prison. Namibia 28 September 2023

Today marks 4 days since my husband Michael Amushelelo has been on a hunger strike. As his wife , this hurts me beyond words knowing that I might get a call informing me that something has happened to him or that I should make arrangements for his body. I have tried talking him out of it, although at this point My husband is convinced that since he has received little to no support from the Namibian nation ( the same people he has been fighting for ) he now needs to use all that he can to fight for his own freedom from behind bars . This is why I am planning a protest on the 11th October 2023 for his release, this will be the same day that his trial is supposed to start again, last month on the 12th September 2023 he was supposed to start his trial but the Police never brought him to court and his trial date was postponed for another 30days . I know that I can not do this on my own, Hence why I Julieta Amushelelo am humbly asking the Namibian Nation to please join me at the protest for my husband to be granted bail. I believe that if we come in numbers and stand as one this will be able to help him get justice . I also ask that you please help me reach out to any human rights organizations world wide and international media platforms to intervene in this matter. More information about the protest will be released tomorrows. Julieta Amushelelo 02 October 2023

Please help us share this post so that more people can come to the protest . On Monday we will announce the meeting point for those in informal settlements to get transportation to the protest .

I hope to see you all at the protest happening in the 11 October 2023 .

The EFF’s Statement on the Continued Incarceration of Namibian EFF Leader Michael Amushelelo -It has become evident that the judicial system in Namibia is being influenced by certain individuals who wield political power and are determined to inflict hardship on Amushelelo due to his outspoken stance and his willingness to courageously address those in positions of authority.

Please help us tag international media. Michale Amushelelo is a political prisoner that has been unlawfully imprisoned for 7 months now and the Namibia Justice system does not want to give him a fair trial. Please let’s make this issue international ! #FreeAmushelelo @aljazeeraenglish @cnnafrica @bbcnews

It is about time we as a nation come together and fight for Michael to gain his freedom. He has been behind bars for too long now all because he is challenging a corrupt and incompetent government, they do not want to give him a fair trial, the justice system is failing him . We can not let him rot in prison while our people are still suffering and starving at the hands of Swapo, we need our leader back! And we need him back now !!!! It is time Namibia , for us to stand as a nation and demand for the release of Michael Saddam Amushelelo!!!!!

No amount is too small . Let’s help the voice of the voiceless gain his freedom back .

My husband was supposed to appear in court today to continue with his trial, although the police failed to bring him to court which resulted for his trial to be postponed. The state is doing everything in its power to make sure he does not come out , they are violating his rights , this is not the first time that they fail to bring him to court , every time he needs to appear in court they always try to make sure that he does not make it. It has been now 7 months that my husband has been in jail , most of that time he was in solitary confinement, I am deeply hurt to see him go through all of this and my heart breaks every day not having him home . But I believe that my tears will not be in vain! #freeamushelelo

We hope to see you all on Monday, at the Windhoek high court at 09AM. #freeamushelelo
