This flamingo was brought in by my super assistent Heidi and her Husband. We were called because there was a flamingo on the run way…. So she got lucky and was ushered in to a hangar. There she was picked uo by heidi ( which i tought was funny as a former KLM flight attendant. She is now being treated for her “mechanical failure “ life at our clinic is never boring #neveradullmoment #heiditotherescue #runawayflamingo #birdontherunway #aviation

Please be carefull. This bird was brought in after been spotted for 3 days he was finally week enough to be caught. @curacao_sea_aquarium will help is with the costs of opera. Thank you! Wildlife rescues and operations are not cheap. See the links in our story in you want to donate!

People often ask if Bob is by himself . He is not. His flock consists of 4 other flamingos that can not go back intobthe wild. Missing wings due to nylon lines from kites or ghost nets, feral dog attack leaving them with destroyed wings. They live peacefully. From time ro time fostering a wild flamingo just before they go back into the wild. We rescue and release around 30 flamingos a year. Besides flamingos and pelicans we also rescue and rehab birds of prey, deer, seaturtles. Wildlife on the Caribbean islands is divers. #wildlife #wildlifephotography #wildlifelovers #wildliferescue #flamingobob #rehab

Bob in conversation with @jettenrob talking about including bats into the research on how to prevent casualties in bats when expanding windmill farms for green electricity . A new study showed that painting one of the blades a different color or by changing the frequency when birds approach seems to be less harmfull and lower bird casualties. Lets hope Bob made a difference @fdoccuracao #wildlifephotography #wildlifeonearth #wildlifeconservation #wildlifeambassador #flamingobob
