Wallkandy

A taste of Winter . It wasn’t that long ago that the garden was under a thick blanket of snow. But now it’s almost time to cut the lawn! . #wallkandy #norway #lårdal #lakebandak #telemark #visittelemark #fb #f #t #p

‘That’s my desk!’ . When I shared an office with Mark Jenkins @xmarkjenkinsx. . I will never forget the time Marks solo show ‘Moment of Impact’ was on, every morning I would get a scare as I looked for the light switches and more so when gallery staff had moved sculptures around after I’d left the night before. . #wallkandy #markjenkins #gallery #installation #sculpture #art #london #lazarides #fb

Brainwasher - Doug Foster 2012 . From Doug - A single, empty chair sits in the middle of a darkened room. Leather restraining straps hang ready from the arms, legs and head rest of its sturdy steel frame. The only illumination in the room comes from a narrow beam of light from the ceiling and the relentless, rippling imagery being projected on the wall in front of the chair. The only sound, a monotonous, liquid drone. . A favourite installation by and featuring @Dougfoster at the Old Vic Tunnels...

Upon Reflection . Sometimes you’ve got to flip things on their head to truly understand them. . #wallkandy #norway #lakebandak #visittelemark #telemark #winter #fb #f #t #p

‘Conjuroring’ - Futura 2000 . Waiting for over ten years to bring order to my archives means it is taking quite some time but it does have some great benefits. I am finding frames that have laid dormant in forgotten files and this is one such image. . I arrived at @futuradosmil studio as the countdown began to the relaunch of the @futuralaboratories web store - the afternoon had an excitement in the air, a rainy New York day was spent with lots of chatting, plenty of exploring the studio and fo...

Eoin - Miami 2013 . Whilst on the Miami fresh vibe here’s a beautiful @e_0_i_n piece that’s bursting right out of the wall. . #wallkandy #eoin #graffiti #wynwood #miamigraffiti #miami #streetart #fromthearchive #fb #f #t #p #2013

Sahara Sunrise . Early last Tuesday it was snowing heavily when we left the house. When I returned just before sunrise it had stopped snowing and the light above Bandak had a bright Mars like orange glow unlike any sunrise I’ve seen here before. Later I realised we’d had a Saharan sunrise. . #wallkandy #saharadust #lårdal #visittelemark #norway #visitdalen #telemark #sunrise #lakebandak #Saharansunrise #f #t #p

A Breath of Fresh Air . Painted by Bhakti Baxter @bhaktimar this is one of my all time favourite murals from Miami & I’ve seen a few but back in 2013 this was a real break from the norm for the walls of the back streets of the Wynwood warehouse area. . #wallkandy #bhaktibaxter #miami #wynwood #art #streetart#mural #fb #f #t #p

Lucy Mclauchlan - The Gambia 2010 . One of my favourite paintings from Lucy, the birds look so at home in their setting. @lucymclauchlan . Back in 2010 I was invited to the Wide Open Walls project at its home in The Gambia. After a nanosecond of thought I said yes to my first visit to Africa - not my last. It was and still is the most enriching project I have ever been involved with. . Nothing could prepare me for the week ahead. Travelling by dugout along the river artists would travel to the...

Abstract Minus . A favourite Bandak spot to stop for a coffee from the flask. . #wallakndy #Lårdal #lakebandak #telemark #norway #winter #fb #f #t #p

‘Multum In Parvo’ - Faith 47 . You can always rely on Miami to give you a banger of a sunset to compliment the beautiful work of @faith47. Painted for the ‘women on walls’ project for @wynwoodwallsofficial Co-curated by @jeffreydeitchgallery . 2013 was my favourite year in Miami for so many reasons and not least the catching up with artists & friends from across the globe. . #wallkandy #faith47 #art #mural #streetart #muralism #wynwood #miami #artbasel #artonthestreet #fb #f #t #p #wynwoodwall...

Armadillo - ROA . A moment of pause and reflection in the Miami heat for artist ROA. One of my favourite shots of ROA at work (or on his break). . #wallkandy #Roa #miami #armadillo #streetart #graffiti #art #mural #wynwood #artbasel #fb #f #t #p
