1) Have you always been a foodie? Which area do you like best? Do you treat food as one of the artistic areas to practice your photography skills?
Ive always been a foodie. My favourite areas to eat in Singapore would definitely be Club Street, Keong Saik and Marina Bay Sands. The local hawker centers here are also hidden gems for local delights. I definitely take every opportunity to practice my photography skills, especially when I eat at artistic and cool spots and you can view them on my blog at www.travelaboratory.com under restaurant reviews, from all over the world.
2) What makes a good food photo? What’s the most important detail for taking a good Instagram photo?
Definitely good lighting. Use the torch on your iPhone for added light if the restaurant is dimly lit.
Angles have to be perfect because you can make a pretty regular dish, look stunning just by photographing it from a different angle. That being said, take the pictures from high up.
Make sure the image is not too cluttered with other pieces that may be on the table. Let the focus of the picture be the food item you are trying to photograph
