What do you dream of? ✨⠀ ⠀ I have so many dreams & a huge vision for the future. One of my biggest dreams (and goals pinned on my vision board!) is to compete for GB in dressage at Olympia horse show in London (just like @charlotte_dujardincbe here!)⠀ ⠀ Dressage is a huge passion of mine - I’ve been so lucky to have had the privilege of growing up with horses and having had the opportunity to train to GB level previously, and I think that’s just lit a fire in me somewhere that I want to do it again in the future! I love competing in dressage, it’s amazing to work with a horse to create something really harmonious but technical at the same time. ⠀ ⠀ If you can dream it, you can do it - you just have to believe in yourself and figure out how to make it happen! Today I had one of those days where I needed to relax (and sleep)! It’s been nice to take a step back, do things a bit slower and listen to what I need. ✨⠀ . . It’s also been my Grandma’s birthday. I’m so grateful that I get to see her on her birthday - normally I wouldn’t as I live in London! I baked her a lemon drizzle cake to celebrate. 💛🍋 . .⠀ Taking time to do therapeutic things every day has helped my mental health so much during this difficult time of lockdown. I’ve had fun designing things, making cards, baking, reading & doing yoga. It’s a great time to tune in to what you need and give it a go 🎀

You may have seen on my stories that I’ve recently had knee surgery! 💉🩺 I’m now almost 6 weeks post op. It turned out that I had a rare benign tumour in my knee (not what the surgeon was expecting - it was meant to be keyhole and ended up being a much larger incision!). 🤕 It’s a good job that they removed it in time or it would have invaded my knee joint, bone etc and could have left me in a much worse state. I am still so grateful for the amazing care that I had from my surgeon, anaesthetist and all the incredible nurses at the @rnohnhs 💛 . . I’ll be doing a longer blog post about my surgery on my website, but for the time being, here are the main nuggets of information I’d share with someone about to have surgery: . . ➡️ It’s honestly not as bad as you think it’s going to be! Breathing exercises help if you’re feeling nervous, but the pre-med I had before the anaesthetic worked even better 😂, so ask for one if you’re worried! 👌🏼 . . ➡️ Physio is king when it comes to a successful recovery, stick to it. . . ➡️ Do a huge food shop before your surgery with all your favourite bits - it really helps to be as comfortable as you can be afterwards (and food is a big part of that for me hahaha 😂) 🧀🍒🍓 . . ➡️ Don’t do too much too soon - I paid the price and ended up spending whole days asleep after trying to walk a bit too far or trying to do ‘normal’ things too early. 🤦🏼‍♀️ . . ➡️ It might take a while to get things ‘moving’ again as they should… 🙈💩 don’t freak out, but in the mean time - prune juice really helps 😂😂- as @elliebeyoga and @amy__colton found out 🙈 - and my @arbonne Fibre Support was a big help too! 👏🏼 . . ➡️ Listen to your body - rest when you need to and be active when you feel that you can be. . . ➡️ Try not to get frustrated that you can’t do as much as you want to. Find things to occupy your brain when you feel like that (Netflix and Xbox were a big help!) . . This too, like everything, will pass ✨ . It’s okay to not know how you feel right now, to feel overwhelmed, confused, down, trapped, lonely... it’s also ok to feel happy, excited, good, positive - we are all different. . Now is the perfect opportunity to learn to be with yourself, to be present, to reflect, to take a step back (or forwards - depending on how you feel!) 🌙 . We’re better together - if you ever feel like a chat just pop me a DM 🥰

I’ve spent my day building big dreams, taking action to drive my online business, and I am SO excited for where I am going! ✨ . . We all have the luxury of having more TIME right now! We also have the chance to reflect on where we’re at and where we want to be! 😈 . . What are you spending your extra hours doing? What did you tell yourself you wanted to do when you had “more time” to do it? Learn to cook? Build a business? Read that book? . . NOW IS THE TIME! 👏🏼 If not now, when? Don’t waste this precious time and look back and think “hey, I could have started that back then” but instead you spent your time watching Netflix and scrolling through FB/insta! . . Have a think about this: If you keep doing what you’re doing right now, where will you be in 5 years? . And just remember - You can do ANYTHING you set your mind to. 🔥

SURGERY AFTERCARE 💉 . So at 4 weeks post-op, I thought I’d share some ramblings about my post-op management 🤓 . . ➡️ Follow the advice from your nurse religiously about dressings etc, to avoid infection . . ➡️ Use a skin conditioning oil (my Arbonne one is fab - DM me for a discount!) on the area around your wound & on your legs for dry skin. It’s amazing for helping scars to be less noticeable too (but only apply to scars when completely healed) . . ➡️ Those damn post-surgery socks are impossible to get back on once you take them off- instead, peel them down as far as you can so that they end up wrapped around your ankles & off your feet, & give your legs/feet a good scrub every day to get rid of any dead skin . . ➡️ Physio = SO important for recovery! Stick to it 🙌🏼 . . ➡️ Listen to your body. Rest when you need to, be active when you feel like it.

TIPS FOR DEALING WITH ANXIETY 🦠🤯 . With times being so uncertain at the moment, worries about this virus, plans being cancelled, exams put off, jobs being lost… what is the best way forward to deal with anxiety? . . • Practice mindfulness. Have a go at mediating if you’ve never tried it before. It’s great to ‘reset’ your mind and bring you inner peace. I use @headspace - but there are many apps and tutorials on the internet that you can use. . • Breathing exercises are good to keeping you calm and relaxed. It was the main tool I used to get through my surgery when I felt stressed! Take a shorter in-breath and a longer out-breath, breathe deeply. 😇 . • Exercise is great for releasing endorphins and making you feel happy. There are loads of free online resources to find some home workouts. My friend @elliebeyoga is great for yoga inspo too! 🧘‍♀️ . • Even though you might not be able to control what’s going on around you, you are in control of more than you may think. You can control how much news your are exposed to, your thoughts, the daily activity that you do, the conversations you have, how much scrolling you do vs things that you want to do that will get you towards your goals. ✨ . • Practice gratitude. Often we can focus so much on the lack and what we don’t have, and it often isn’t helpful to our state of mind. Write a list of things that you are grateful for - it can be anything. Start small and let it flow. 🌸 . • You can do things that make you happy right now. Give a friend a call, schedule in an online yoga session - whatever works for you. ☎️ . • Think about how you can use this time to work towards something you’ve always wanted to do. Start a new project? Open an online business? Start painting? Pick up that book you’ve always been meaning to read? 📚 . . Feeling worried or need a chat?
