Aloha! 🌺🌴🌊 We’re here for fall break - @russperry is en route to Australia and France, so I took this opportunity to do something new with Paige and Reese. This is my first solo trip with kids and I’m out-numbered around large bodies of water, so for the pure fact of safety I’m not going to be on my phone or posting much during this trip 😆 Plus, after a busy month I know what my kids need most (and probably me, too!) is a present mom that will build sand castles, play their (weird) made-up games, get her hair wet, and who knows - maybe even go down the waterside. Full vacation mode 😉 💕

Happy October!! 🎃 This morning when I came home from school dropoffs, I made a “fall bucket list” on the chalkboard we have in our mudroom. The idea came from several accounts, including @seasons.of.renewal, who have premade ones like this, but because I already had a good chalkboard and have had practice with a chalkmarker, I went for it and DIY’d our own🖊 • The first part is filled with our family traditions during this season of the year. The girls love this movie, there’s a good pumpkin patch north of us, Paige has an October birthday, and we have a long-standing tradition since getting married of hosting a full Thanksgiving dinner for family at our house - on the Friday after 🦃 • The second half I left blank for the girls to tell us what they want to do. Who knows what they’ll come up with, but I want them to feel invested and important 🧡 • The writing is crooked, I didn’t fully erase what I had under it, and my falling leaves look like feathers 😂 but as I say about organization - I don’t want it to be about perfection. This is mom’s handwriting, creating something simple for our family to remember traditions and prioritize having fun 🙏🏼 • Also, I love a checklist so...🤣 • You can do this for your family in so many ways. Check out the premade ones, draw it up on a poster board or butcher paper, put it on the calendar or in your notes app, or if you have a chalkboard - here’s an idea for it! Who else is excited for fall? It’s my favorite season 🍂 #mudroom #familyfirst #falldecor
Are you the type that does better with your goals when you have external accountability, like a coach or trainer? Or do you like to wing it and do things on your own terms? • This week’s episode of the Good to Be Home podcast is about the power of accountability. Whether you’re an obliger (like me) or rebel (like Russ - these are from @gretchenrubin’s 4 tendencies) cultivating your internal accountability and investing in external accountability can push you over the valleys and past the plateaus in your life. Hear how saying “yes” to accountability has been a big part of both @russperry and my individual growth and our growth together as husband and wife - and how it can be the next step in your growth, too! • We also talk about the ways in which the “unwillingness to be uncomfortable” is holding many of us back from some really good things in life (it’s the mic drop moment in the episode) 🌟 Link in bio! http://liketk.it/2FozO @liketoknow.it #liketkit #goodtobehomepodcast
Have you guys enjoyed the 30 Day Decluttering Challenge? 🏷 Only two more days left! My goal was to make organizing bite-sized, doable and manageable so that you wouldn’t feel overwhelmed, and that you would instead feel the accomplishment of small wins throughout your home. Whether you did one day or all of them, did them randomly or in order - or maybe just watched me talk my way through random spots my house for a month 😂 I hope you have found some benefit! • Today on my stories I have 1) linen closet decluttering and 2) church notes. My takeaway this morning is that giving is an expression of our faith, and that God has so much in store for us - beyond what we can dream for ourselves - if we trust, give, and have faith. I know that to be true in my life when I have been able to let go and had faith, I’m always amazed and what it can lead to 💛 • Have a great Sunday, everyone! ☀️#sundaymorning
It was a one-time thing and we weren’t planning on doing another Declutter Your Motherhood workshop together but...now I don’t know. What do you think, Rach @3in30podcast? 😉 • What I DO know is that next week, you’re going to hear about something I’ve been working on to create community between us and more learning opportunities for you. It’s for YOU if you want to grow on a journey of small wins to make a big impact in your home and life 💛 • Ps. this greenery always gets lots of Q’s whenever I post it - so I’m going to give it its moment : it’s called Israeli ruscus, it lasts literally forever, so very inexpensive, and I typically get it @traderjoes! 🤗 #goodtobehome #livesimply
Today is my birthday, and as further evidence for me getting older, I’m publicly admitting how much joy microfiber cleaning cloths that all match and are nicely folded brings to my life 😂🙋🏻♀️👵🏼 • Day 24’s decluttering challenge was dish towels and rags, and here’s where I keep our cloths for daily cleaning. It’s in the laundry room near the kitchen, so very conveniently located for all the cleaning that happens. And on the right are wipe packs, because this room is on the way to the mudroom and garage so I can always grab them on the way out the door🏃🏻♀️ • Linked the cloths, bamboo divider, glass jars and even the wool dryer balls (I’m a fan!) on @liketoknow.it and on the shop tab in the link in bio 😉 http://liketk.it/2FedY #liketkit #laundryroom
On this first day of fall, I am wearing one of my favorite leggings (haven’t changed from Pilates class 🤷🏻♀️) this cozy olive sweater cardigan (it’s washable wool and converts into two ways 💕) lit some fall candles (finally!! 🍂) and am getting my life back together after a crazy few weeks of workshop prep (😅) How do I get reset, organized, and figure out my next steps? Head to the link in bio for today’s episode of Good To Be Home for a solo talk on the 5 ways I use post-it notes to organize my time, tasks, and thoughts! 📝 🌈http://liketk.it/2FbKb @liketoknow.it #liketkit
... at a loss for words to capture what yesterday’s Declutter Your Motherhood workshop was like. So let me try to organize it (of course) here in bullet points, based on feedback we received : • Someone said the day felt intimate and positive. Exactly the feeling we were going for 💛 • Someone else said it was incredible energy in there. I agree! It was 140 mamas ready to see how they could invest in themselves and their families for the better. These were women who were there to be present 👏🏼. • Someone said they came from Florida. Another from Wisconsin. There was someone from New Hampshire and another from Washington. And several from California and others from Utah. I couldn’t believe it! You are our people! 🎉 • There were tears. Tears of gratitude, tears of sadness, tears of exhaustion, tears of understanding. One feedback we got - kleenex on the tables next time 😉 • Someone said it went so smoothly. Sure there were hiccups (like locking myself out of my car and my dress coming undone on stage! 🤣) But for the first time doing something like this together, I am proud of @3in30podcast and I and grateful for the team it took to make it happen 🙏🏼 • Someone said they left with the confidence to start anywhere, and to know that there are always options. YES! We all have different needs, struggles, and dreams as women and mothers, and our hope was to help you see that with a little bit of “decluttering” ✨ • Someone said it was everything they hoped for “x 100” ❤️ • I’m not sharing all of this to boastfully make Rachel and I look good. I’m sharing this to show you that two very normal moms (us) followed our own dreams, became friends, and then ran with an idea, and now here we are. One big collaborative workshop - done! • This means anything can happen for YOU. We couldn’t have imagined this a year ago. And who knows what next year will bring. So keep following those breadcrumbs trails and tugs at your heart and take action, because each of you reading this has something to offer this world that is needed. Sometimes you just have to do it to see it. • For the attendees, thank you. @3in30podcast and I are YOUR biggest fans and we are always here for you 💕 #motherhood
No pumpkins here! I like to wait until the official first day of fall (also, it’s still 100 degrees here so...😉) 🍂 #kitchendesign #livesimply
Enneagrams, Myers-Briggs, Color test, Zodiac signs, Love Languages, and more. We’re talking personality tests and all the types (including ours!) on today’s episode of Good To Be Home 📝. ⠀ •⠀ In church yesterday, there was a joke that God puts opposites together just for humor’s sake and his entertainment. If that’s the case, God, hope you’re enjoying this comedy show in the Perry house! 🤣⠀ •⠀ Kidding aside, in relationships you DO have to recognize your differences and be open in learning how to make it work. Russ is very much the extrovert, while I need my alone time to recharge. And we are very different in how we process through conflicts and emotions (who do you think is more of the “talker”? 😉) ⠀ •⠀ Find out how we not only make our personality differences work, but use it as valuable information in how to best support one another in our marriage. Look for Good To Be Home : Episode 70 wherever you listen to podcasts! 💛 #goodtobehomepodcast
Happy Saturday! The first sign of fall here in Arizona are mornings that aren’t scorching - and I felt a touch of that today! 🍂🙏🏼😆 • In anticipation and excitement, I put up a NEW blog post of my fall style finds for this year, including classic staples like oversized sweaters, jeans, boots and leggings from my favorite brands, plus some fun trendier pieces that are still easy to wear (several of these are en route to my house via a little online shopping this week! 😉) I also included a similar sweatshirt to this one - very comfy and weekend-ey.
