Given the recently-announced restrictions by the Hong Kong government to encourage social distancing, I have made the heavy-hearted decision to close Sponge for fourteen days. We have not had any Covid-19 cases, nor have any of our staff or clients been in contact with any Covid-19 cases. This is out of an abundance of caution. This is also out of a sense of community. What is of the utmost importance to me is that everyone is to stay healthy and safe. In a time like this, we must all come together. We will fight this, together. I do want to take this opportunity to thank my staff and our clients for being amazing. From the time we launched, until now, you have been loyal and you have brought me so much happiness. Sponge is a beauty company. But one that challenges the status quo. Did you know that beauty marks are considered “imperfections of the skin”? I disagree 100% with this and I think they are beautiful. They make a person unique. Which is why I included a beauty mark above the lips in Sponge’s logo. Our Menu looks have inspiring names like “The Go-Getter”, “The Inspiration” and “The Boss”. Sponge is about celebrating women and their achievements. . Which is why I was very excited to talk to @wellmagazineasia about how “trends” are changing and we’re seeing a move from women wanting to be skinny to women just wanting to be healthy - no matter what that looks like. Women are eating more, lifting heavier weights and feeling more confident. I myself am on that journey. . Here’s an excerpt: “On a scale of 1-10, how body confident are you? I would be lying if I told you I felt like a 10 every day. I don’t. There are good days, and there are bad days. But I thank my body for what it does for me every day.
