“Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire.” – Jennifer Lee ▫️ . One of my all-time favorite quotes. What I love about it is that it applies to everything- not just travel. It tells you to be bold in pursuing your passions and the things you are interested in.▫️ . For me, iits travel. For others, it may be a business venture, a lifestyle change, or even just a big life decision. Whatever you are passionate about, pursue it relentlessly.▫️ . Traveling for me puts things into perspective. It allows me to realize that there are far bigger things than my problems. Traveling allows you to see that the world is not always about you. It allows me to see how other people live and what they have to deal with on a daily basis.▫️ . Traveling has humbled me and has broadened my perspective in so many ways. Traveling to places like Southeast Asia and other places around the world has given me a sense of gratefulness for the comforts and abundance that I am able to enjoy.
If you've been following me for a while, you know how much I love dogs. In fact, I've become somewhat of a go-do dogsitter for some of my friend's pets when they go away. People always ask me why I don't get a dog of my own but, to be honest, I don't really feel the need. I like the idea of having one around when I feel like it (or when its needed when my friends go away) without the full time commitment (or vet bills.) Kinda like kids 😜 . This little munchkin is Gucci and he belongs to my friend @islandvibbin. We got to hang together this summer and he is beyond adorable. 🐶❤ . So ... Are you a cat or a dog person?
Every morning when we wake up we have a choice to make. How will we spend our day? Will we take another step forward that will bring us closer to our goals or will we continue to sit in the uncomfortable place we're in, too scared to make a move? Or worse, will we give up altogether? Life really is all about what YOU make of it. Its about the choices you make and the action you take (or don't take.) Yes, it is hard sometimes. Its scary and things don't always go according to plan. You see, the road to success and happiness isn't about everything being perfect and good all the time. It isn't about having everything in place or the timing being right. There are good days and not so good days. Its all about mindset. And to constantly and consistently keep moving forward. Making choices that will propel us towards our goals and towards the life we dream of. Its about NOT giving up or giving in and doing what needs to be done to make sure we get to where we want to be. It might not happen right away. It might be a long road ahead. But if you believe in yourself and stay focused ... well ... the possibilities are truly endless. 🙌
What an awesome birthday I had. 🎂 . Feeling like Wonder Woman today after all the love shown these last 29 hours and counting. ❤ . Loving life right here, right now, in this moment. 🙏
Happy Friday and happy Rosh Hashana to all those celebrating this weekend. May the year ahead bring us only health and happiness, abundance and peace. Shana Tova ve metuka. Here's to a sweet year without all the drama (I'm talkin' to you COVID-19) 🍎🍯❤
#Throwback to a lovely afternoon in Lisbon, drinking sangria and talking about life with my (not so new anymore) friend @badpopcorn who I met earlier that week on a walking food tour. My love of food always seems to pay off. 🤪 #tbt
With this in a bowl, who needs dessert? This gorgeous bowl of @libertecanada Greek yogurt, @lafourmibionique Euphoric chocolate granola, cherry, blackberry and bkueberry compote topped with a small drizzle of maple syrup and my taste buds are happy, happy, happy. ❤
Life is hard! Plain and simple. Look around you. You can't turn on the television without hearing about all the horrible things that are happening all over the world. All the rage. All the hate. All the hardships. It seems that everyday life seems to be getting worse, not better. But you know what does get better? You! Change is a choice. It's a choice that we get to make every single day about how we live our lives, how we make ourselves better and what we want for ourselves and our loved ones. So choose to grow. Choose to learn. Choose to love. Expand your mind, your heart, and your soul. Love your life. Practice daily gratitude. Give and receive love. Lead by example with empathy and compassion. Because it doesn't get better. You get better.
"Those freckles make you seem like a galaxy of stars, just waiting to be explored and loved." -- Nikita Gill▫️ . I love my freckles. Now. I used to hate them so much but somewhere down the road of my life I learned to love them. I learned to love all my perceived imperfections (minus those muffin tops because f%$# that.)▫️ . At some point, we all get to that fork in the road and we have to make a choice. Do we love ourselves as we are or do we continue find fault in everything about us and continue to struggle to have self acceptance and self-love.❤ . I chose the former. This is me. All of me. Freckles and all. 😊
Personally speaking, in the grand scheme of things, (and again, I'm speaking for myself only here so keep that in mind,) this whole pandemic hasn't been the worst thing ever. For me!!! 👍 Overall, I didn't "suffer" mentally. Mainly because staying and working from home is something that works for me (the quentissential homebody here) and being alone, which is not synonymous with being lonely, is something I enjoy.🙏 I've been able to complete a course I signed up for. 🗂 I read a whole bunch of books. 📚 I worked full time. 🙋♀️ I stayed in touch with friends and family and made the best of a terrible situation.😊 . But now that we're 5 months deep, I'm starting to feel the impact (both mentally and spiritually) of not travelling.✈ Travel is what I live for. What I look forward to every year. Its what sets my soul on fire. 🔥 and I miss it SOOOO much. I didn't realize how much travel impacted my life in so many positive ways 😌. Lately, its all I can think about. I am waiting for countries to open up again so I can explore and experience different parts of the world 🌎 again. ▫️ . How has this pandemic affected you? What are you missing most and can't wait to get back to?
If there's one good thing for Canadians that came out of this pandemic, is that our summer has been spectacular. Mother Nature has brought her A-game and boy, she did not disappoint. And every once in a while, when she's feeling playful, she gives us incredible sunsets, colours, and energy that goes straight to our soul. Last night was no different. So grateful to have experienced her magic. Combined with being on the water, surrounded by people I love and respect, my soul went home Happy.
