• Renewed • As I look back on my last week of vacation. The first staycation in ages I am tremendously grateful for the time to be still and fuel my body from the inside out. Self-care is so important and necessary. I have been under an extraordinary amount of stress running a travel business during the most difficult time in history. My worries have been centered around my full time team members who I’ve been working hard to keep them employed. At some moments it’s been difficult to sleep and this vacation gave me space to reboot. I’ve spent the week going back to basics eating a mostly plant based diet and loading up on water. I feel amazing and most importantly I feel clear. I’m excited about what is to come. My highlights this week are: ✨ Learned to make Falafel and Black Bean Burgers ✨ Made banana bread and roasted cashews ✨ Got dressed for Club Quarantine tonight ✨ Caught up with Insecure and Kevin Hart documentary ✨Spent a mindless day at the Pool and fell asleep in the sun ✨ Finished a huge chunk of training for my new project Whats your favorite treat to love on yourself?

Let’s talk staycations! I need your help! Let’s make a LIST of things to do. ❤️👏🏾❤️ Please post some fun ideas below. 👇🏾⁣ ⁣ Saturday was my first day of vacation and my first staycation in over a decade! I’m curious for those who have done a staycation and those who may take a vacation during this time. What shall we do?!⁣ ⁣ Yesterday I spent the afternoon at the pool and did what I always do on vacay...Fell asleep at the pool on a lounge chair. I am most excited about going to a new grocery store this week. #MaskReady⁣ ⁣ What would you do on a staycation now?⁣ ⁣ Here is my quirky Claire Vacation Fun List so far for vacation. I am open to all the fun while I have tons of free time. 😂#VacationGoals Photo taken at the Underwater Hotel Room on Pemba Island, Tanzania⁣ ⁣ ✅ Be the #1 player in the world in online spades. I’m ranked 5,566 out of 54K now. I would need to win another 150 hands is my estimate. ⁣ ✅ Blow up a floatie and use it in the Pool ⁣ ✅ Récord a Bored in the House Tik Tok⁣ ✅ Make Banana Bread 🍞 and Cross Buns ⁣ ✅ Grocery store run at a new spot with my walkers;-)#WalkingDeadReference⁣ ✅ Get dressed in full makeup for Club Quarantine or the Virtual Kiss and Grind ⁣ ✅ Make a list of all the LOCAL things I want to do here in Playa del Carmen when I feel safe again 🏖 ⁣ ✅ Have a jacuzzi night outside with Gin 🍹 Spritzers with my roomie Sheila Brown. The timing is impeccable as we've gone through a challenging month in travel I've been focused on my full time team. Insuring we keep them engaged and employed has been my sole goal during this time. It's been a high opportunity to step into greater leadership excellence. #SheReady My team is awesome and teamwork truly makes the dream work. 3 years ago I moved out of Oakland. I spent that weekend with amazing friends that helped me pack up my place and get ready for the next chapter. Looking at this picture I miss the breeze and smell of the vineyards in Sonoma. I long for returning when this is over. During this time I have learned. 1. Rest is doing. This time is an elongated pause and reflect. It’s given me a chance to continue being still since I broke my leg. Although I’m 70% recovered I have more work to do. I will run again. 2. Connecting is magic! The magic in this moment is the ability to reconnect with friends and loved ones. I have spoken or left voice messages to at least a 100 people I would never have had the capacity to do. I have committed to continue reaching out to friends to be a voice of hope. 3. This too shall pass. I’m enjoying the journey. The roller coaster emotions from uncertainty each day can be triggering at times. Routines are helpful to give a sense of normalcy. However, it’s okay to grief the loss if our normal. Understand some days are harder than others. 4. Each day is a new day! My goals now are simple. Wake up, shower, and connect with self. I spend 2 hours each day learning new skills and concepts. 5. Leadership Matters. I serve as a beacon of hope for my team. We discuss mental health tools and we check on each other daily. We are pushing each other to continue to rise above and be great. I am helping my back office team create their Learning Plan focused on soft skills and software we use at @upintheairlife. Over the next few months they will spend 30% of time learning new skills and becoming an intermediate user on all software we use. This will make us better and connect more with our clients. We will emerge stronger humans more connected with self and our tribe. We have added weekly Power Hours at the office to share how we feel. Discuss our challenges and share what we are grateful for. We are redefining our new normal. We are holding space for ourselves. We are holding space for the new life. I pray everyone is finding peace and ways to cope during this difficult time. #inspiration #letsdreamagain I share self care rituals like journaling
