Foot placement on one straight line is one of the top mistakes made by athletes when performing the Split Jerk. To understand the problem, let's associate our positions with geometric figures. When setting our legs on the same line (on the same rail), our body looks like an unstable upside down triangle. When we spread our feet wider (on two rails) the width of our shoulders, we get a rectangle that is a lot more stable on the ground. It’s better to solve this problem during our warm-up with an empty bar. To do this, I recommend putting a board (see the video) to make work on our muscle memory.
