Iconic @rawdis giving us modest/modern bride inspiration chills! Gown by @claesiversen
Classically beautiful... our bride @baharmelbourne #modestbride photo @berri.photography
Part 3: Elopement... A gold dipped preserved rose the bride received for the first anniversary served as the bouquet for their elopement. We absolutely love this simplistic and sustainable elopement! There is so much beauty in it @baharmelbourne @berri.photography ring @windfalljewellery #modestbride
Part 2: Elopement The Gown... “ This dress is a custom made dress I had got made 2 months after meeting my partner, I knew he was the one. It’s been sitting in my wardrobe for 2 years... the hat I made (couldn’t justify paying $600), bought it from AliExpress for $25 and embellished it with my left over bridal silk. I did my own makeup and styled my head scarf as I wasn’t allowed to outsource those services, the ring is locally hand made from the amazing Queens running @windfalljewellery “ Photography: @berri.photography
And the COVID 19 elopement weddings are rolling in! This stunning elopement is from @baharmelbourne who sent in these breathtaking photos of her recent nuptials. Some words from the bride... “Although I didn’t have the chance to have my big FAT Turkish wedding, wear my dream dress that I made with my bare hands (I’m a fashion designer), let alone have my siblings and family attend my ceremony... we decided to put ourselves first and elope. After all, our families want the best for ourselves and thats what’s most important!” More to come... Photo: @berri.photography Gown: custom made
Ridda & Yusuf Part 5 Favorite moments... “If I HAD to choose, it was enjoying the peaceful moments with Yusuf between the chaos. The day flies by and it’s easy to forget why you are there - that it is YOUR day and remembering just to focus on each other. The speeches were the best I have heard, I was either crying or laughing. For years I took the private bus home with one of Yusuf’s friends. I found out on our wedding day that everyday for two years Yusuf would come to the window to speak to his friend and say bye, and neither of us noticed that the other existed. We often say now that we realised we were meant for each other in every sense of the word ‘naseeb’. We were in each other's life for a long time and so were our families, but it was Allah’s timing that united us and our families again...” Photo @ellaottavianophoto Gown @thesposagroupaustralia Groom’s suit @brentwilsonfashion Stylist @styledbyaliss Florals @twigandboflorist Makeup @douniamerhimakeup
Ridda & Yusuf Part 4 On Traditions... “The most significant tradition of the day was the zaffe when Yusuf and his family came to pick me up and my dad ‘handed me over’. It was the most emotional moment for Yusuf and I, I knew Yusuf was holding tears back - the pictures say it all! I was the first to get married in my family so for us this was a new and overwhelming experience...” Photo @ellaottavianophoto Drummers @zaffet_khaled
Ridda & Yusuf Part 3 The Gown... incredibly beautiful classic gown with beading, a full skirt and our favourite detail, pockets. Gown/veil: @thesposagroupaustralia Photo: @ellaottavianophoto Flowers: @twigandboflorist #modestbride
Ridda + Yusuf Part 2 The wedding theme... (the bride’s words) “I went back and forth between colours, but chose to have a theme that merged with the outdoor view, flowed beautifully and would made me feel at peace. I’m very particular about things, so I chose every single little element of the wedding and had a stylist on the day set up and manage everything so I could relax...” Photo @ellaottavianophoto Venue @panoramahouse.bulli Styling @styledbyaliss Florals @twigandboflorist Cake @keik_cake_design Backdrops & candles @arabellaevents__
Tonight we are sharing the wedding of Ridda and Yusuf. The wedding took place in March this year, at the beautiful @panoramahouse.bulli How they met... “Yusuf and I met at the end of 2017 when he started at the law firm I was working for. (He is a lawyer and I am a paralegal.) It was a small law firm and we got closer every day and, without realising, we had quickly formed a relationship and bond, becoming best friends, before all of a sudden it turned into something more! Neither of us were looking for a relationship since we were both young, but it just happened! As it turned out, we went to the same high school and both spent a year at the same university, at the same time but never knew of each other. After a year or so we thought it was time to make it official...” Photo by @ellaottavianophoto
