We're doing shots! Flu shots that is! Tequila shots pair well with salt and lime 🥝🍸 Flu shots pair well with superhero bandaids and healthy people who want to protect their communities through herd immunity. I know COVID is in the spotlight right now, but influenza is still a serious player in the respiratory illness game. You know what's even worse than getting one? A co-infection where you're hospitalized with both. Stay safe, stay STRONG, wear your mask, and do your (flu) shots! More info: https://www.cdc.gov/flu/prevent/vaccinations.htm
Heavy on the Lifts and Light on Time! 🏋️♀️ Y'all, when it comes to injuries, I'm a certified scaredy cat. I LOVE high risk sports, but I'm incredibly risk averse. So in my training, my goal is always to make progress in the safest and fastest ways possible. ⭐ What I'm saying: train movements and exercises in a way that is safe and appropriate to your fitness level. 🚫 What I'm NOT saying: go lighter, or work less. As you're thinking about your training, consider the following: 1 - Are you tracking your training? Can you correlate positive gains over time to the work you've been doing? If you've been doing the same training routine for an unintentionally long period of time, you may find that your gains have slowed or your progress has stagnated. Consider changing movements, increasing difficulty, or making other intentional tweaks. 2 - Thinking about the movements you train, are you using any assistance (resistance band/counterweight) to complete the ROM? Are you able to complete the ROM without assistance? If so, can you increase the difficulty or resistance and still complete the ROM? If your training is benefiting you, you should be getting better over time. That's the idea. If you've been doing the same accessory drill for months, and you're still no closer to the movement that is your goal, it's time to evaluate your progressions. When in doubt, seek out advice from a trusted coach, add difficulty in measured doses, and evaluate. ❤❤❤
