She’s been at a Mom retreat since Thursday with other women who have kids with Down Syndrome and I miss her face. Every-time she’s gone I have a hard time sleeping, I can’t focus and the kids say I’m grouchy. I don’t think I’m grouchy but they tell me that it is very apparent. Whenever Nikki is getting ready to take a break I tell myself that its going to be easy because I figured it all out the last time but I always end up gaining an deeper appreciation for all that she does. I’m pretty much a wreck without @nikkizl . PS. Gracie took this photo and she is another girl that I am missing today. #wifeyforlifey

Wil had an emotional day yesterday. His two favorite bus drivers Gail and Cowboy that have been with him since he started school will no longer be on his scheduled route.  I originally didn’t think Wil understood what was happening but as they left Wil walked to the end of the road and watched their bus for as long as he could see it. He’s never done that before, he was heart broken. This little guy gets very attached to the people in his life. . But it won’t be the last time they see each other. Cowboy told me that he was going to miss his riding buddy and that he is going to try his best to drop by and say hi. He also said that he might try to get Wil on his bus on short day Fridays so these two can continue their long talks as they cross the prairie. #downsyndrome #theluckyfew #wilcanfly #peopleareawesome #choosekindness

As far as humans go, these ones are pretty okay - and by pretty okay I mean I love them so much it hurts. . By the way, if you look close enough you can see Wil’s new toothless smile - I accidentally bumped it out when I was wrestling before we left for photos. #familylife #familyphotography

I’m so proud of the mighty words I discovered my sweet Gracie wrote on a recent post she saw online about Down Syndrome. She text us the photo on the 2nd slide and expressed how upset she was that this was possibly the first experience that a lot of nursing students would have related to Down Syndrome. We noticed later her comments she made on this post (3rd slide) and were so dang proud of her for having the courage to stand up for her brother. - - - #prouddadmoment #dadlife #downsyndromeawareness #downrightperfect #nothingdownaboutit #theluckyfew #bigsister
