Negativity. Get rid of it. - I want this to be a little wake-up call for everybody. I’m talking about your friends, your family members, your ride-or-die homies who you feel some type of obligation to please... If they aren't supporting the steps you're taking to better your life, whatever that may be -- cut them loose. - That may feel harsh and it might make you uncomfortable, but it's the only way you're going to find happiness and be truly committed to what you're trying to accomplish in life. Does it have to be forever? Definitely not! Negative people may grow and change and realize your friendship/love means more than their opinion, but until that happens don't feel guilty if you need space. - Negativity will snuff the life out of your dreams and your goals. Keep it out of your own mind and keep it out of your circle. - I’d hate to wake up one day and realize I lived someone else’s dream. Messing around with a new variation today! - We were trying to find a way to do a seal row where you could spread the grips apart, similar to a rope attachment. This is not the most ideal situation, but it gives you a close grip on the stretch and a wider grip on the full contraction. Obviously not AS much range of motion as if you had a rope attachment but the two handles worked pretty well. I’ll keep working on it! - Are you following the Daily Pump? Link in bio - Dumbbell Seal Row- Controlled negatives with explosive positives. - Form tip: On the negative portion of the rep allow the dumbbell to travel down and in front of your chest. On the positive portion of the rep contract towards your lower rib area. A great way to achieve a better mind muscle connection during back movements is to imagine pulling back with your elbows, not with your hands. Tricep training tips! Tag a homie, share the goods 🙌🏼 - 1) Emphasize barbell and dumbbell movements, but don’t neglect cables, machines or other unique variations! Every exercise has a role to play and there's no single movement that will build triceps alone! Variety is key. - 2) Limit movement of your upper arm during tricep exercises! Your elbow is the pivot point and by keeping the upper arm still, you'll be able to isolate the primary worked muscle. The more movement in the upper arm the more difficult it will be to feel a solid isolated contraction. - 3) Mind muscle connection is king! Think about a muscle group in your body that has an amazing mind muscle connection (flexing your bicep for example). You should be working to develop that same level of contraction in your tricep. If you aren’t feeling it in your triceps at the full contraction of each movement.. stop, adjust form, and try again!
Life update!! I'm home! For a while anyway. As of right now we have zero flights booked and it feels GOOD! This was a big travel year and I'm looking forward to a few months enjoying Oregon fall weather and spending time with the family! - I know for sure we'll be in LA for the FitExpo and Ohio for the Arnold, plus a handful of open gym dates will be added to the calendar within the next week! Hip movement on ab exercises can be one of the main reasons you’re not feeling your abs working!
