Unscientific research. A Tesla crosses the Golden Gate Bridge at least every 80 seconds (I am counting while walking across right now). Actually is far more frequent than that. One way. That is around one every 60 cars. Just think of the map it is building. Only Tesla has a neural network with cameras on the road. It is damn cold here.
San Francisco has lots of problems but Mitchell’s ice cream is still amazing. I have had ice cream all over the world (serving the stuff was my first job and I never lost the addiction) and most places don’t come close. I had peanut butter indulgence and butterscotch marble. Rated #1 in SF on Yelp. Ryan had Grasshopper Pie. Patrick Scoble had Peach and Strawberries and Cream. Milan, chocolate, and Maryam Scoble had coffee and mint chip. All were amazing. There is a reason it is #1. The Mitchell family ran a dairy here in the 1880s and it still runs and manages it today.
Pandemic survival kit. Proper use demonstrated by Ryan.
Two people went to heaven together today. Both young. 40 and 43. Both brilliant. One a programmer. One an actor. Both cared about people and left the world better for them being here. The one I know saved thousands from sex trafficking with his programming. Both died of the same disease: colon cancer. Heaven got them way too soon. Way too soon. I will talk more about my friend after family posts but Maryam Scoble and I are devastated by this loss. It hit me a lot harder than my dad dying a couple of months ago. He was 82 and you expect death at that age but 40? I don’t have the words except to say “2020.” When I see my friends struggling I just say “2020” to them and they answer back “yeah. F##k 2020.” My friend kept getting sick for two years and doctors couldn’t figure out why. Young people aren’t supposed to get colon cancer. Heaven got two great people today and damn that sucks.
We live a few houses down from a fire station, which gives us regular scenes like this. I always wave at them and hope things work out for whoever needed them.
Shot this off the top of my Tesla. This is Silicon Valley smoke. Those are NOT clouds. Huge fires burning on both sides of us. So much loss. I hate breathing the air with the smoke of people’s misery and homes.
That kind of day...
Four hours of driving to visit The beaches around Bodega Bay. Whew!
Silicon Valley sky is on fire tonight. It will be hot tomorrow.
I drive three hours just to buy this farmer’s strawberries in Manteca. They are the best in California. He has been farming for 16 years, he told me. My sons already have eaten through more than half a flat.
