Loving your body has many layers to it. Part of it is accepting that one boob may be bigger than the other, or that your tummy will never be completely flat, or that your bum will always be a little too big. Another part is nourishing the body you have been given by eating well and exercising regularly. Another part is realizing that when people judge your body, it is THEIR PROBLEM, NOT YOURS. Today’s Saranovela on body positivity was inspired by the Brian Hyland classic “Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini.” The heroine in his song never gets over her fear of judgement... but YOU CAN. WE CAN. So you just go ahead and WEAR THAT BIKINI. Maybe you’re built like a Victoria’s Secret model (damn, lucky you). Maybe you’ve got jiggly bits everywhere, zero boobs, or a giant Caesarean scar. So what. Wear it anyway. And enjoy it. Featuring famous bikini icons from over the century such as the great Marilyn Monroe, Ursula Andress in her Bondgirl Bikini, Pamela Anderson from her Baywatch days, the legendary Grace Jones and a whole lot more. Spent all of last year working on this with the wonderful folks at the @bikiniartmuseum which will be opening in Germany this 2020.
