Very happy to be a part of @picsforthekids print sale partnering with @avenuesforjustice All profit raised go to @avenuesforjustice, a program that since 1979 provides counseling, training and education amongst other services to keep kids out of prison. It’s one of the most successful & cost effective crime prevention programs in the US. 90% of kids who have this support stay out of prison, for a cost of $5,200 per year. Compared to 25-50% of kids who remain crime free after going through the NY State juvenile detention centre. Please be a part of something bigger than us! thank you @leo__becerra for including me with so many amazing artists

Mother’s Day and Baby Mama Day with @artwerk9999 big congratulations to Earth being born in the pandemic of a lifetime, everything’s changing @emilydawnlong —- somewhere between COVID as global threat and COVID as nagging inconvenience is COVID as excuse — and there’s the miscellaneous: people who rally against the vapidity in selfie/influencer/food blogger phenomena who are finally able to partake of all three without controversy because it’s “all we have now” and before you know it you’re choosing beetroots for their colour and giving eyeshadow tutorials. Trolls can troll harder knowing they’ll be given all the attention they crave without real-life confrontation on the horizon, assholes like me can air dirty laundry and dwell on trauma from the kitchen table. Enormous blue chip galleries can use money from the government to pay employees rather than making a dent in a family fortune. We can scream in the street and passersby will sort of understand, shoplift knowing the police are busy breaking up a barbecue, get around to making things we never had time for, blame the crisis for our not being able to make things, and at long last we can admit we’ve been strangely lonely since the 1990s and honestly what’s another few months (Issy Wood wrote this blip it is very nice)

This print is available for purchase for @worksforworkers (available on the site) til May 18th along with a lot of other talented artists all raising funds for the NDWA Coronavirus Care Fund for domestic workers facing hardships during these trying times

Giving you something other than the latest New York Times article to rest your eyes on. What a time to be alive. I have been reading a lot of everything and nothing 24/7 this week and the talented Issy Wood wrote her thoughts (i like to think these are snippets of my thoughts but in the most beautiful way) “The pessimists and optimists divide up easily, but the subsections of each run from predictable to full childhood attachment theory. I have some categories in mind for their attitudes which still need some work - “Pessimistic-depressive”, “Optimistic-anxious”, “Fearful-creative” “macro-delusional” “micro-obsessive” etc... There are friends whose big picture hopefulness is endearing or nauseating depending on my mood, on a good afternoon I’ll concede that, yes, this could signal a new era in how humans connect and share, that power structures and class systems are to be shaken up and how we care for the most vulnerable will transform only through such tremendous short-term discomfort. On a bad evening this’ll make my blood boil, I’ll tell them the very lack of human connection we’re headed for is what will destroy the interpersonal, push love further into its own antonym, I’ll tell them we need only glance at how hoarding and slander have skyrocketed this week to see that socialism will be the butt of every 2020 joke, that whoever’s respiratory systems are spared will find themselves short of breath either way, that divorce lawyers, OCD specialists and pharmaceutical companies will clean up in the autumn. Then these friends say something like ‘we are all in this together’ and I’ll say then why don’t you come to the studio to hang out and they’ll say I can’t because you might make me sick.”
