Waking up every morning to the most magnificent view 2500 meters above sea level. It took most of us the first few days to adjust to the altitude and to practicing this high up. But it really forced us all to be really aware of our breath, and to walk slower, move slower, eat slower. Being here, we are constantly reminded of how powerful Mother Nature is, and that we can only adapt to it, work with it, respect it. Really hope to bring some of this back home. Thanks for following along 🙏🏻💕 📸: @jonathanphair #FocusedintheAndes
“How much of human life is lost in waiting.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson Heard this quote a while back in a line in the last #IndianaJones (definitely not my favourite one, but it’s crazy how Harrison Ford can still pull it off after so many years...🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 also, watching Indie brings me back to fun childhood memories watching the movies with my dad 😍😍😍) Need that constant reminder to talk less and do more. Wait less, and experience more. I love #daydreaming, but it’s time to take action! So BRB #Toronto! @jonathanphair and I will be back in 11 days; we’re headed to the mountains and valleys of Peru with @focusretreats 😍😍😍 excited to handstand all day with @angstands_yoga 🤸🏻♀️, and then explore #MachuPicchu. Back to our regular classes October 2 😘 📸: @patrickkleung 🙏🏻💕
💫💕✨GIVEAWAY!✨💕💫 (Scroll to the bottom if you don’t care about the story lol) It used to be that sitting still was WAY TOUGHER than working on any asana. I’d rather spend 2 hours falling in my handstands than to try and “meditate” for 10 minutes. I really didn’t see the point, and felt like I could use my time much better doing other things than to sit pointlessly. I can’t even fully explain how that started to change. And now I can’t even begin to tell you how much meditation has changed my life, my awareness, my reactions, my interactions, my thought process, and my outlook on life. (#Cheesyandcliche, I know...) One thing that did start to change my practice was being in nature. Sitting outside by trees or a mountain, by the water, or near some flowers. It was easier to feel at peace, to slow the thoughts. Having a space that was quiet and peaceful made meditation more accessible; I was only distracted by things that were in the present moment with me. 💫💕✨✨💕💫 The closest thing to sitting in nature without distractions, in a peaceful environment conducive for meditating in the city: hands down @myhoame 🧘🏻♀️ In celebrating their one year anniversary, we are giving away a one month unlimited meditation pass to 2 lucky winners (valued at $168 each), and all you have to do is: 💕Follow: @myhoame @queeniephair @phairyoga 💕Tag a friend! Each tag = one entry Bonus entries: For 5 entries - share this post on your story (make sure you tag me so I can see it) and tell me why you meditate For 10 entries - share your meditation story (even if that means it’s non existent!!), and why you want to win the pass, and tag me and @myhoame Contest ends Friday, September 13th, midnight Toronto time 😘 Hope to see you at @myhoame!!
✨New Class Alert✨ Lately, I’ve been lingering in my comfort zone. Same classes and routine. Flowing comfortably within the rhythm, but at times, finding myself just going through the motions. That’s not where I want to live. And it seemed like the moment I became serious about disrupting my status quo, things started to fall in place. #manifest So excited, grateful, and a bit nervous to be joining a new #yogafam and teaching at 💕 @chi_junky 💕starting today! You can find me every Wednesday night at 6pm: Sweat Flow L1-2. Leslieville, come breathe and sweat with me!! 📸: @jaycrewsphotography
This year, at 7 years old, we found out from our last vet visit that @abbieschnauzerphair is considered a “senior” dog 😱😱😱and as much as I’m in constant denial that she’s growing older (and will leave us one day...😭😭😭) @jonathanphair and I made extra efforts this summer to enjoy time together outdoors and to make sure she doesn’t waste her short life waiting at home for us. And as I also get older, I am being more and more careful with my sun exposure (no more turning crispy brown in the ☀️), that means constantly subjecting my skin to sunscreen. And because I’m always sweaty from teaching and practicing, I decided to try out @freskincare, as I’ve seen so many other active instagrammers use it, and it’s specially formulated for active, sweaty lifestyles! What I love most about it is that they’re a vegan and cruelty-free brand, and with each purchase of their set, they will plant an Argan tree in Morocco ❤️ I love their sunscreen because it’s hydrating but not sticky and thick 😍 oh, and they’re having a back-to-school sale for the next 48 hours: 40% off when you use QUEENIE! Summer isn’t over, and should still apply sunscreen in the winter or on a cloudy day (thanks @831gee for drilling this into my head for years..... hate when you’re right lol 😘) (💯 money back guarantee if you don’t like it!) #loveyoursweat #skincare #veganskincare #freskincare
I do crave structure and routine. It provides a foundation for growth, discipline, and calmness. I like waking up knowing what I have to do and what’s expected of me. A defined schedule allows me to work towards my goals, see the progress I make, and to build (connections, skills, relationships) in this rooted position. But I also need something to balance out this structure. To stay inspired. To stay motivated. Otherwise, my vision becomes too narrow. My energy becomes stagnant. My “why” becomes too self-serving. I focus too much on things and “values” that don’t really matter to me, and get pulled into thinking only “THIS” can make me happy or “THAT” means success. When I feel that a shift is needed, the quickest way to lift myself out is to look back at times when I explored new places and experienced different cultures. When I plucked myself out of my tiny bubble and saw how others live life and find joy. 💕 #throwbackthursday And then I plan a trip with @jonathanphair 😂 Who else needs this shift every once in a while?! 🙋🏻♀️ Ps. @jonathanphair and I are headed to #SriLanka in December, join us in resetting the cycle! 📸: by @jonathanphair exploring with @aetak during our #Morocco retreat ❤️ . . . . . . . . . . . #travel #yogateacher #yogainstructor #travelgram #yogaretreats #yogapractice #traveling #myyogalife #myyogajourney #travelholic #tbt #yogaeveryday #vacation #paradise #yogalife #yogaretreat #yogatravel #travelling #yogavacation #yogaholiday #yogatravel #retreatlife #explore #yogini #phairyoga #focusretreats
What you put in your body is just as important as what you do to your body. And that also has an effect on your mental, emotional, and energetic body. Thanks @gnccanada for the reminder to properly prep and feed the physical body so that it can continue to be a supportive and healthy container 😍 #gnccanada #wellnessessentials #beyondrawcanada #canfitpro
🦁Leo Season🦁 Thank you for all the love and well-wishes yesterday that flooded my notifications and filled my day! I am so grateful! To be alive. For all the beings I get to share experiences with. For all the lessons I’ve learned this year. It’s been one of my biggest year of personal growth in the last decade, and it was made possible by the love and support from family, friends, and community. It’s been a year of working on myself, of healing, of forgiveness, of trusting and believing, of letting go so that I can better serve my community and family. So excited to see what this year will bring. Thank you again 🙏🏻 And happy birthday to all my fellow Leos 💕 📸: @patrickkleung . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #leoseason #birthday #family #familyphotography #familypictures #familyphotoshoot #familyportraits #familyphotos #familylove #familygoals #couple #couplegoals #couplephotography #happybirthday #growth #reiki #reikihealing #lessons #myyogalife #phairyoga #grateful #love

✨“Soham”✨ Inhale “So” Exhale “Ham” “I am that” One of the first #mantras that I was taught, and back then, I needed a lot of help to sit still and focus on “so little.” It’s still a struggle now, but I no longer sit there wondering WHY I need to do this and WHEN I’m going to start feeling the “benefits” of meditation 😂 I have been a very slow learner in this aspect of the practice, but so grateful I didn’t give up. But if you’re like me, and need something “to do” while first starting to meditate, try using a mantra; it can be anything you want, it can be a self-affirmation phrase, it can be religious, it can be whatever you are comfortable with. Just start with something you feel good about! And if you want, use a mala so you can keep track of time and how many times you’ve repeated your mantra, and infuse your intention into the mala. I have my @dariadayjewelry mala with me in this pic; count the beads with the right hand (without using the index finger 🙅🏻♀️) and move your way around the mala in one direction, and once you reach the guru bead, turn the mala around and reverse the direction! 📿📿📿📿📿 @jonathanphair and I lead meditation classes at @myhoame, so if your curious about this practice, join us for a class there!! Ps. Also check out @dariadayjewelry, all their jewelry is handcrafted by female artisans living in the remote mountain communities in the foothills of the K2 Mountain in Northern Pakistan - some of which are the most isolated and poor communities in the world. They believe in breaking the cycle of poverty for their female artisans and strive to provide them with a sustainable livelihood and path to prosperity. My mala here was crafted by Yasmeen 😍 Use QUEENIE20 for 20% off! #dariadayjewelry #meditation
