GENDER OF ENGAGERS FOR OUTBACK_REVUE
Love it when parcels arrive in the post... the first for 2021 are two subscription boxes I subscribe to: @getcairn - an American based biz that curates great quality camping/hiking/outdoorsy gear for the avid adventurer (freaking LOVE this subscription, there's nothing I haven't found a use for yet!) The second is Aussie based @relove.print who help to reduce waste by placing preloved books into the hands of booknerds around Australia, saving them from landfill and giving the books a new lease on life!
Phew! Just managed to make it home before the skies opened up here (sounds like a cool storm on the way)... 12.3kms walked today... and took a couple of pit-stops to take in the view/refuel
I DID IT!!! I survived the Story Bridge Climb (and a HUGE step closer to conquering my fear of heights!!)
Not long now!!!
Cannot believe that I am actually going to be climbing this bridge in less than 2 weeks!! Pretty much been afraid of heights since as long as I can remember, but determined to overcome that fear (and enjoy the experience of a lifetime!). @storybridgeadventureclimb is one of only 3 bridges that you can climb around the world (there's two here in Australia, and one in Auckland, NZ) The team have been absolutely wonderful, attending to my needs and putting my fears to rest (well as much as one can when you're petrified of heights!) 🤣😭🤣😭
Quite possibly one of the best meal preps I have made to date! Garlic Butter Salmon and Asparagus all made in the one pan.
Views from today's walk... 11.77km covered in the walk today (I'm quite out of practice, but was surprised to see how well I felt after - and during - I'm sure I'll feel differently tomorrow lol)
The September edition of the @getcairn outdoors and adventure subscription box arrived today! I'm super keen to test out the solar (or USB) powered solar light - I have heard good things about these! #cairnrocks #cairnbox
Awww thank you @crystalheartofficial for the super cute gift of crystals with my order 💗 A couple of new Oracle decks arrived today #postivevibes
Super excited, the Spring Edition of @biomestores quarterly subscription box arrived! Lots of zero-waste goodies to play with! 😍
Ahhh books and tea... what more could a girl ask for?! Well, usually the kitties would be snuggled up beside me too, but they've opted for my bed today instead! Don't forget to jump over to @tribesnationsfair Instagram account and enter their giveaway for a hamper loaded up with lots of fair trade products, like the tea I'm sipping on now!! #likeitfair #tribesandnations #fairtrade #giveaway
I haven't jumped on the bandwagon of RUOK this year, coz honestly, I'm not... (it's okay NOT to be okay... and I'm cool with where I'm at... ordered a ton of books recently to help me out etc - but I'm also NOT in the present mind to start conversations about it, be there 100% for people I care about, and I want to acknowledge that too, though whilst I care about you, right now I'm dealing with my own inner demons) But RUOK goes beyond just ONE day! Mental illness can be a life long journey for some people (hell, I suffer from C-PTSD, general anxiety, depression, social anxiety and a HOST of other mental illnesses) It's important to have a support group... family/friends you can trust and gather support from when you need it... but they can't always be available to you - professional help aids a lot in your recovery (and takes the pressure off family and friends too, who want to be there for you, but sometimes they can't) https://www.healthdirect.gov.au/mental-health-helplines - this is a list that provides mental health support in whatever area you require it... they can also help you to seek a more permanent arrangement of mental health care (don't forget, your GP can play a LARGE part in your mental health care plan to, pointing you in the right direction for the assistance you need. If you're looking for a political party to support who puts mental health first, I cannot suggest enough supporting @theamp (I'm a financial member, since they first created the party - and they certainly need more help and support to make some major changes in mental health policies here in Australia!)
