Training From a Recovered State 👍 I had my check in with my coach @teamgoals1 on Saturday, never do I leave there without learning something. 👍 Here’s what I learned... I haven’t been training too much, instead I’ve really been focusing on trusting my gut, my guts been telling me, “don’t train” 🤷♀️ What? Don’t train...?! But I thought it was good for you to train during times of stress...? Gives you endorphins... 🤷♀️ Well, truth is... we should only be training from a recovered state. How can your body recover physical stress (working out) if mentally and emotionally you’re already tapped...? 🤷♀️ Take a moment to re-evaluate your current situation... IS training really going to benefit you if... I made time for myself during a grieving period. 😞 It’s ok to be self-ish during a grieving period too. As you know I haven’t been to the gym in 2 weeks... today was my starting point. 🎯 However yesterday evening I learned I lost yet another childhood friend, my brother best friend, another brother in my eyes. 😞 ...but, I know if I do not go to the gym AGAIN today, I will suffer the consequences mentally and emotionally. Given the previous two weeks, I really cannot afford myself to go that slippery path. 😔 I got out a quick 45 min super focused, light to moderate intensity, drop set Glute/Ham workout done. 💤 And a much needed nap. Learn when is the right time to push yourself and when is not.
