And here we have a Rebecca species relaxing in her natural habitat in all her basic glory 😜🐆 Snapped this pic on the way to dinner last night (since I average wearing clothes and makeup once a week lately, it deserves to be documented 🤣) but I currently look like a hot mess express after spending all day cleaning carpets at our old house 🙆🏼‍♀️ While today is technically a rest day from my StepBet (today is the LAST DAY to join the game! Fall weekends are just the best ☺️🍂🍪 Got up this morning and went for a chilly coffee walk with bae then came home and baked some healthy pumpkin cookies (recipe is from @amyshealthybaking pumpkin oatmeal cookies - I just subbed sugar free syrup for maple syrup for less calories). Hit up the gym for my real workout and now it’s home to organize all of my workout clothes 😅 and clean before meeting up with some new friends for dinner and drinks tonight 🥂👯‍♀️✅ Hope you are all are having an enjoyable weekend!

This left photo was always one I used to use for transformation photos during my weight loss journey: it was such an eye opening photo for me when I was heavy to see how much weight I had gained. I was wearing leggings and a tunic because I had no regular pants that would fit me and I couldn’t bring myself to go to a store and buy a size 20/22 pant that would fit because that just *could not* be my size. It took me two years after that photo was taken in 2012 but I finally started a weight loss journey in January of 2014 which ultimately led to me losing 100 pounds in 2 years (my full weigh loss journey is in my blog - linked in my profile). I went from 246 pounds to 146 pounds and it was the best thing I ever could have done for myself because I NEEDED a wake up call and a change to get focused on my health. While I’m so glad I went through that journey, I’m also so glad I’m at a point in my life now where I’m more than just a transformation photo. The photo of me at my lightest weight also Apple picking (swipe) came up recently on my time hop and while I’m 30 pounds heavier now than I was back then, I look at that small little girl who was “healthy,” yes: but also a bit of a mess personally. The divorce from my ex was almost finalized and my life was chaotic so I made food and exercise and dieting my main priority so I had SOMETHING to have control over. Could have I continued that rigorous lifestyle and kept maintaining that small body? Probably 🤷🏼‍♀️ But I think the REAL transformation I’ve had is learning that my life, my body and my health is defined by much more than how my photos compare to a previous version of myself. My happiness, my relationships and my overall lifestyle matters more and if that comes with a little more lovin around the figure I’m perfectly ok with it 🙏🏻 You are more than a transformation photo and you are worthy of finding a happy weight for your body that is maintainable for your lifestyle 💕 #weightlossjourney #weightlossmaintenance #weightlossbeforeandafter #gainingweight #gainingweightiscool #bodypositivity #bopo

Made my first spaghetti pie lower carb with @naturalheavenusa hearts of palm pasta! 🍝🥧💃🏼 #ad I actually really don’t like plain spaghetti 🤪 but add some cheese and meat sauce and bake it up like a pie and now we’re in business 🙌🏻 This was such a filling and tasty dinner coming in at 277 calories per slice with only 11 grams of carbs since I swapped out traditional spaghetti with Natural Heaven Hearts of Palm pasta. I love how easy to prepare this pasta is (no soaking or boiling required - use it straight from the bag!) and it has no weird flavor: this tasted just like a traditional spaghetti pie with a lot less carbs! I’ve linked the pasta in my profile (code “mygirlishwhims” gets you 10% off) and listed the ingredients below and recipe is found in the comments (modified from @delish). I’m in the middle of designing a coffee station in our kitchen but it requires adding an outlet and some contractor work that will take a bit of time, so until then here’s a pic of a decorative spot in the powder room, let’s pretend that there’s not a toilet right outside this frame that I could have been sitting on to snap this pic (I wasn’t, by the way, but with the way coffee get things moving for me, that is a valid possibility 🤪💩😳) Lol. I got up early today to login to work early so I could break at lunch to take a loooooong walk outside enjoying the fall weather and getting some steps in. Since I’m all about keeping it real around here: this is my post announcing I did not in fact win my DietBet game 🤪🤪🤪 As you can see though I did lose weight over the 4 weeks so I’m still glad I played and enjoyed using it as a bit of a reset. At this point in my weight loss maintenance phase I’ve learned it’s pretty hard for me to drop too many extra pounds without drastically changing my lifestyle, and I’ve really enjoyed the balance I’ve found lately of no long tracking my food or obsessing about things and just living a “normal” life: still focused on being healthy but no longer my sole purpose in life!!!! Currently at the gym for an extra long workout 💦 (benefit of having a random Tuesday off) but spent the last two days outside the gym running, hiking and exploring 🌄 My skills with running are not what they used to be (like, remember that time I just randomly ran my own half marathon on a Sunday just because 🤯😅) so I was super proud when I got six miles done without stopping this weekend and felt like I could have kept going 🙌🏻 I’ve said before and I will say it again though: there is never one set pace or one set distance you ever need to hit to become a “runner.” You become a runner by just going outside and moving your body as fast or slow, as far or as short as YOU can manage. Rebecca at the start of my weight loss journey couldn’t run 1 minute without stopping but somehow managed to increase my stamina with training and practice and became capable of running half marathons! Rebecca of 2020 is extremely pleased with that 6 miles though, and doesn’t mind mixing in some hikes with gorgeous views as cross training instead of just pounding the pavement day after day 😉💕🤩
