Trudiann Branker,our Master Blender here at Mount Gay, samples the contents of the many casks at our distillery here in Barbados. In our tropical Caribbean climate, the aging process is unpredictable; the same type of rum can mature in a long in as long as three years or as quickly as six months. We depend on Trudiann and her team to regularly Inspect our barrels to ensure that each rum is granted the time it needs.

we are proud to announce the launch of the latest edition to our Master Blender Collection, ‘The Port Cask Expression’.⁠ ⁠ For this year’s small-batch release, Master Blender Trudiann Branker wanted to focus on pushing the boundaries of rum making by incorporating casks not traditionally used here at Mount Gay; in an innovative move, she turned to Tawny Port casks.⁠ ⁠ Trudiann used a blend of rums distilled in traditional column stills and aged in Tawny Port casks, as well as rums double distilled in copper pot stills, aged in American whiskey casks and finished in Tawny Port casks. The result is a rich and multi-faceted blend with notes of vanilla, caramel and almond on the nose and cherry, dried fruit, oak, prune and almond on the palate. This beautiful rum is best enjoyed neat, slightly chilled, with a piece of dark chocolate.⁠ ⁠ The Master Blender Collection: The Port Cask Expression will be limited to 6,570 bottles and will be available at select premium retailers throughout the world in the coming weeks.⁠ ⁠ #MountGayPortCask #MountGayRum #morethanarum

A well crafted cocktail can change a night in an instant! This is the “Sparkling Sage” INGREDIENTS 1.5oz Black Barrel .75oz Honey Syrup 3 Sage Leaves 2oz Dry Sparkling wine (to finish). HOW TO CRAFT 01. Add rum, lime, honey and sage to shaker. 02. Add ice and shake. 03. Fine strain into champagne glass and top with sparkling wine. 04. Garnish with lemon and sage.
