Hidden Gems... they’re everywhere around Oz if you know how to look and who to ask ✨ This Hidden Gem is the beautiful Kianinny Bay, found in the stunning Sapphire Coast, NSW. This place was recommended to us by a local. The bay is sheltered and safe for swimming for all ages. There’s even a grassy picnic area and a fish filleting station. The snorkelling was incredible and if you look real close, you can even see the resident local stingrays in the photo 🤿 #kianinny #sapphirecoastnsw #hiddengem #sapphirecoast #visitnsw #holidayherethisyear
Daybreak over Pambula Beach, Far South Coast NSW🌞 By far, one of the most beautiful places to watch the golden glow of a sunrise 🌅 @sapphirecoastnsw @discoveryparks
90 MILES⚡️144.841 KILOMETRES. That’s the length of Australia’s longest straight road. And this section was pretty much the only driving that I did on our mad dash across from WA to the East Coast 🤭🤘🏻 Driving this stretch was actually quite peaceful. It was late afternoon and the entire country was in lockdown (back in May) so we passed only a handful of trucks and only two caravans travelling in the opposite direction. By dusk, there were mobs of up to 20 kangaroos perched on the side of the highway. Thankfully, none jumped out! #nullabor #90milestraight #openroad #lappingozlife #thisisaustralia #takemetoaustralia #seeaustralia 💫
Do you want to hear the good news or the bad news first? Well, I’ll start with the Bad News by saying, we are well and truly in the thick of Victoria’s Stage 4 restrictions. Just like everyone else in Australia and this state, we had no idea at the beginning of 2020, that this pandemic would create such havoc. We chose to come to Melbourne for a few reasons, one being a great work opportunity for Adam, but also because living in a different town to the one we grew up in was very appealing to us both. Luckily, I was able to return to IKEA and even though the kids both returned to school only to face remote learning again, life was good. However, since the Premier announced tighter restrictions for the next 6 weeks, I was feeling really uncertain what that meant for my job. If you’re not familiar with an IKEA store, it’s basically a mammoth warehouse that is a Mecca for home lovers. On a good day, more than 10,000 people will visit an IKEA store 😳 The Good News is, I still have my job even though there will be no customers coming into the store. The Other Good News is, my adventure cup is full and I feel confident that everything will be A-OK in the end, whenever that may be. This isn’t the first time that our plans have come unstuck. I know what it feels like to have plans unravel. I know how important it is to focus on the good things. So if you’re in Melbourne or regional Victoria and you’re worried or just need to chat with someone who understands what it means to plan for a trip and then getting hit with an obstacle, you just need to shoot me a message. I am here. If you are feeling overwhelmed or having difficulty coping, Lifeline are available to provide one to one support with a trained crisis supporter. 😜Today’s model, Adam, is wearing knickers by an upcoming designer specialising in emergency fly nets, which are absolutely essential when visiting basically anywhere in WA and The Outback. If you haven’t desperately tried to keep flies out of every orifice in your head, did you even go to these parts of Oz? #straya 😂 #experiencetherealaustralia #australia #traveloutbackaustralia #flynet #looksgoodtastesgood #theoutback #theoutbackexperience
Throw back to when Adam and I did the big lap of Oz in a tent! This was just before we started our fam. Out of 16 months we only spent one night in a motel due to extreme weather 😮The whole trip changed our lives and we made a vow to share this experience with our future kids some day. It took us 10 years to get there, when finally at the end of 2017 we left our suburban lives behind to pursue our dream. While together we have definitely accumulated a fair bit of full time travel experience, we are by no means experts in this lifestyle. For those that are thinking about doing something like this, all I can say is to always follow your guts, do what’s right for you and your family and your situation ✌🏻🌈 PS private messages are always welcome if you’d like to pick mine or Adam’s brain about something. #lappingozlife
Travel when you’re young and able! SCRATCH THAT... Travel when you’re able! Geez whizz, the current Covid situation in Victoria is flippin’ hectic. The great thing about travel is that you have so many great memories to keep you keeping on during these strange times. Stay healthy and stay safe everyone ✌🏻 #magicmemories #gibbriverroad #chasingwaterfalls #thekimberleyaustralia #thekimberley #australia #australiasnorthwest #waterfall #waterfallsofinstagram #lappingozlife
A Geology road school lesson at Karijini National Park. It’s a very long way from the “remote learning” that the kids are now doing in Melbourne. Our fam hit the pause button on full time travel for a few reasons, one being that the kids wanted to experience traditional school life for a little while. Little did we all know that when they returned to normal school, that they’d be schooling from home 🤦♀️📚 💻 At least they have plenty of distance learning experience already 🙃 #karijininationalpark #westernaustralia #pilbara #remotelearning #roadschooling
