[Excerpt from an Interview with Paul Smith by @euroman_dk ‘s November issue done by @frederik_La] Q 9/10: How does fame change people? A: “I generally feel, that fame changes people for the worst. All that attention has a way of inflating peoples ego in a negative way, so that they become more selfish with their actions and strangely enough, suddenly develop really bad manors. Instagram has contribued to giving more people the opportunity to become famous. This culture that has been created, by constantly uploading photos of yourself, is really unhealthy. It’s a culture that I simply don’t understand. Pauline (wife of Paul Smith) has made sure I have my feet planted solid on the ground. It is easy to be carried away in the fashion Industry, and easy to feel you are important. Pauline and I, live privately and enjoy each others and our friends company, without letting the outside World affect us - Or the fashion Industry for that matter.” I genuinely loved this answer! [Gifted by @tomfordbeauty // @tomford ] I was having a shitty day the day this came, bitter even? to be frank, but then I got this in the mail, and I couldn’t be moody anymore, because presents from TF would make anyone turn their frowns upside down 😁
Pembroke @crockettandjones_official x @tarnsjogarveri x @careofcarl 👞 [Care of Carl 10 years: Anniversary collection with Crockett & Jones x Tärnsjö Garveri] How the story behind this collab came about to commence Careofcarl’s 10-year anniversary: It was during a balmy summer evening in June 2019, on the soft hills south of the river Arno in Florence, in the garden in front of an imposing Tuscan stone house and enjoyed dinner with parts of the Jones family. The intense sound of cicadas and the Florentine night enveloped everyone like midnight blue silk. The discussion revolved around Care of Carl's upcoming ten-year anniversary, and different ways to pay attention to the event. Inspired by the evening and discussions that have been quiet for a long time, the idea of a collection of Crockett & Jones' well-sewn shoes, made from leather by Sweden's most prominent leather producer, Tärnsjö Garveri, was anchored. Glass was raised in unanimous approval, and the idea took a stronger grip on the minds of everyone involved. Tärnsjö Tannery manufactures vegetable tanned leather. A sustainable product with a very nature- and environment-friendly production process, which leaves a very small climate imprint in this context. Tärnsjö Tannery has been producing leather of the finest and highest quality since 1873. Crockett & Jones has been manufacturing some of the world's finest shoes since 1879, with both companies each having over 140 years of combined experience in their field. Jonathan Jones (Managing Director at Crockett & Jones) adds: “Vegetable tanned leather requires extra care during production, as it is sensitive to heat, and has other dyeing properties so the process takes longer than usual. The skins also take longer to cut as they are naturally tanned and colored, which means that marks after the animal's life such as wrinkles and defects of natural growth become more visible. This can enhance the character and the unique feeling in the shoes, but also requires more care and knowledge from the cutter. ” All in all, each pair of shoes in Care of Carl's anniversary collection will be unique, and safe to say; a must-have in every gentlemens wardrobe!
[Gifted shoes / Sko gave*] People are often surprised I work with kids, and that I actually wear the items you see here on Instagram when at work - Well, I do, and this would be a normal everyday Fall look, though I’ve decided to keep it a little more classic opting to go for a pair of brogues instead of sneakers. The brogues are from a brand new collaboration between Crockett & Jones & Tärnsjö Garveri, a first for Crockett & Jones, and sold exclusively *@careofcarl to commence their 10-year anniversary! The collection of shoes are designed to give the men who wear them a timeless handsome elegance. An eye-catching style that signals high and long-term quality, and exquisite craftsmanship. Besides the Pembroke brogues I’m wearing, they collaborated on four other iconic Crockett & Jones models: Islay (Boots), Camberley (Monkstraps) Boston (Loafers) and Grasmere (Derbys) that you’ll be able to see more of on careofcarl.dk 👞 Happy anniversary Careofcarl 🥳

....”money can’t buy you happiness” - But these things can certainly make you get pretty close 😛 - On top of my Christmas list 🤩
[Ad/reklame @ilkjaer_eyewear ] Today, I went by my Optician to look for a more classic and timeless pair of glasses. As some of you might have noticed, I’ve been shifting my style a bit, to a more refined and classic look. Age has something to with it, but I’m also hugely inspired by the Brits - They know more than anyone, what good gentlemans style is all about if you ask me. The thing is though, that often when you go for a classic style in glasses, most of the time the expression becomes neutral and bland. But, at ILKJÆR you won’t ever find something that is ordinary, and so I had a closer look at some of the current styles that I thought would match my desired style. And, I went with a pair of Paul Smith (tortoise in image three) which had just the perfect fit, classic subtleness without being too monotonous! Paul Smith is actually a relatively new brand at ILKJÆR, and suprisingly comes at a price point where most can join! Swipe to see some of the other choices I went though (and if I may say so myself, a good selection of pieces that embodies the classics) - I’m already looking forward to show you more of the glasses up close 🤓
