Putting the final touches on the final video house tour of our Minneapolis home had me digging through the archives. We lived there for 5 years and in that time we fully renovated the space. Thought it would be fun to share the evolution of our living room. So many different layouts, rugs (damn cat) and memories in that home. Swipe from 2020 to 2015 💕
Finally got a bump pic with my sister ❤️Only took us 20 weeks 🙈 Still can’t believe we’re due a week apart!
Slowly pulling together our new house. I like to work room-by-room versus a little bit in every room. Helps me stay focused on the overall design and not feel overwhelmed with where to begin. Started in Harriet’s room and it’s been so fun playing with color and patterns! Filling this room with quirky patterns, girls colors at her request and lots of secondhand pieces. • Wall color: Dusty Ranch Brown and trim color: Swiss Coffee both by @benjaminmoore
Well, hello again 👋 I didn’t really intend on taking such a long break! This summer has been a busy one - packing, moving, renovating, unpacking, our daily routine all turned around with covid, oh and being PREGNANT! Baby number 2 is joining us this winter. We’re all excited to become a family of 4! • I’ve got so much coming up to share. Mostly, new house stuff! I’m loving having a new design project to work on. First trimester kind of kicked my butt so we’ve been a bit slow in finishing up all the projects we started around the new place, but finally feeling settled. More to come in my stories and YouTube channel, which will pretty much be house stuff for the foreseeable future and I’m pumped about it! • Also, thank you to so many of you who reached out with kind words while I was MIA. Y’all are the best ❤️ P.S. Joel hasn’t grown out a covid bowl cut. Harriet was just going wild during photos 🤪 • Photo by @chelseywerth (who is amazing with squirrelly little ones!)
On to the next chapter in our life! Newton Ave you’ve been the best! We’re going to miss you 👋😘 Today we sold our first home. This photo is from yesterday after we packed up the last few things. We’re sweaty, tired and a bit sad to say goodbye but excited for our new place! I’m going to share some before and after pics of our Newton house here and a final video house tour on my YouTube channel soon. Life’s a little crazy right now, but it’s so fun looking back at all the memories and seeing all the changes we made!
So it’s been awhile... lots of change has happened in our lives in the past 2 months - more on that soon! Here’s a snap from this week. Harriet gave up her nookie (she “gave” to our friends baby because she said she’s a big girl and didn’t need it anymore so we just went with it) and now naps have been a struuuuuuuggle. Two hours past nap time and she passed out on me 🤷🏼♀️ Parenting during this time has been filled with lots of ups and downs. I love all this time together, but some days are just plain hard. Like really hard.
Doing the work I should’ve started a LONG time ago. It shouldn’t have taken me to this point of tragedy to truly begin educating myself on racism. The burden should not be on POC to educate us. Show up, just listen, then do the work, and keep doing the work after the headlines are gone.
Checking every trendy quarantine pastime off of my list 🤣: ✔️ make bread ✔️ bake cookies ✔️ updated a room in our house ✔️ start a sourdough starter ✔️ decluttered ✔️ bought new sweats ✔️ make a quilt ✔️ planted a garden New vlog up on my YouTube channel about planting our garden and a tour of our backyard! Link in my bio 😉
Harriet and I picked a bunch of lilac from our backyard. I’m so grateful for this little outdoor space right now. I wish you could smell these 💜
Right now my camera roll is filled with cute pictures of this one from our many, many daily walks around the block 😍 Also, when she wears leggings and a sweater she looks so cute, but I look like I haven’t showered or done laundry in weeks in the same outfit 🤣
Thanks for making me a mama little miss Harriet ❤️ love you too the moon and back!
