Joe golfed all morning (late start because of frost too!), Millie ate a sandwich off the table this afternoon, and Jack peed on the floor tonight. But at least things are sufficiently spooky and this tree is across the street 🍂 #stillmightrunaway
The brightest part of my day is his smile but these leaves are making a play 🍁 #octoberforever
Get in loser, we’re going voting 🗳🇺🇸 #ivoted #bidenharris2020 #voteblue 🌊
He’s a good kid. I’m a fine mom, so far. Logically, I know that. But I‘d venture a guess that it’s not often moms go to sleep thinking “I rocked it today” even when they did. We always want the best for our kids so we could always do better. We’re hard on ourselves. Too hard, considering how hard society is on us already. Jack is happy, fed, not a serial killer yet to my knowledge. But every night I think about the things I should do differently. Better. And then I get mad at myself for that too - because why do we put so much pressure on ourselves to be everything all the time? Even with the most supportive partner or village, it’s never going to be easy. I imagine it’s the hardest, most rewarding thing I’ll ever do. I was pro-choice long before I had a child. There are a million reasons why. But looking at him, I have a new reason. Becoming a mom made me *more* pro-choice. Feeling the immense weight of raising him to be a (hopefully) productive and kind member of society...it’s a weight no one should be forced to bear. Motherhood is a choice. It’s a choice I make every day and one I love so deeply. But I made a choice to be a mom when I was ready. I can’t imagine someone making that choice for me. Abortion isn’t a dirty word. Access to affordable birth control should be available everywhere. Women deserve thorough and specialized healthcare. I’ll scream it from the rooftops, til I’m out of breath with my baby on my hip. #imvotingfor
I hope he grows up to be the perfect mix of responsible and reckless, like his dad. I hope we figure out how to teach him to be kind. I hope he knows sooner rather than later that women are just as valuable and worthy as men. I hope he holds the door for strangers and takes pride in hard work. I hope he does the right thing just because it’s the right thing, not for praise or reward. I hope he knows that moments of weakness don’t make you vulnerable, they make you strong. I hope empathy guides his choices. And I really, really hope he stops sticking his hands in the toilet.
She always tells me that I was her best birthday present. Joe rolls his eyes every time 🤣 but it’s still my favorite thing to hear 32 years later. Happy birthday to the best mom, grandma, friend and person I know. We’re so lucky you’re ours 🧡 I wouldn’t want to share a cake with anyone else 🧁
Maybe some October magic can save us from the current hellscape 🤞🏻 probably not, but at least there are still babies and pumpkins for moments of joy in this otherwise bottomless pit of despair 🎃 #happyoctober! 💀 #rememberwhenjackwasbald
Those orange specks peeking through the green make my heart skip a beat 🍂 there’s nothing like New England in the fall - I will die on this hill 🎃
Not sure what I love most - the chubby ankle rolls, the clunky baby shoes, or the fact that everyone I know sends me the link to them (I bought them in two sizes the day they came out and will never tell Joe how much I spent on them) 😚💘 #friendlyneighborhooddoxielady
September 2020 👉🏻 November 2019 😭 does the growing up ever slow down?! I hate it 😩 I also love it because it’s true what everyone says, every stage is better than the last. I just miss my tiny, toothless boy ❤️
Sweet child o mine 🤘🏻🥀 (bonus pic of when Millie and Gracie were Guns N Roses for Halloween 😜)
Sprinkling spooky everywhere 🔮🕯🎃 #tistheseason #everydayishalloween
