Are you a holiday decorator?? I am NOT! Thank goodness I have this mat to play around with because it’s pretty much the extent of my Halloween decor. Sof gets so annoyed that I don’t do more, so today I found a fake spider on the porch that she dug out from storage and a tiny little skeleton thing. So, what about you? Are you team “decorate for everything” or maaaaaybe not 😂?
||SEVEN MONTHS We are past the half-year mark and she keeps getting more and more fun. She’s a little mama’s girl and is absolutely the center of attention at our house. She’s the best eater and loves everything we’ve fed her. One cute thing about her is after her first morning nursing session, her belly is so full of milk that she loves to just chill quietly on our bed for a good little while. Also, wow. Does she look like her siblings or what?? #palomaruthgrows
I think I say this almost once a day, but I can't believe how fast Paloma is growing! We're at the stage where she's started to eat solid foods, and I'm so excited to learn her likes and dislikes, and to introduce her to more new foods. @Gerber Infant Cereal is a great choice for when baby is ready for solids and is the #1 Pediatrician Recommended brand for infant cereals among doctors who recommend infant cereal. It is full of iron which is important for her brain development, and just two servings of Gerber Infant Cereal provides her daily iron needs. That's why I feel good about what I'm giving her, and I know she's starting her food journey on the right foot. #ad #TheVillagebyGerber #AnythingForBaby
Over and over I have had the same thought run through my head: I am so proud to be this boy’s mom. He made the big decision to be baptized into our church this weekend, and it’s a decision he’s been thinking a lot about. He has promised to bare His name, to mourn with those who mourn, comfort those in need of comfort, and to serve God. I know his journey won’t be perfect, but I know he will always be surrounded by a family who will always cheer him on.
I take back every bad thing I’ve ever said about laundry. I love laundry. Laundry is the cutest😍
I had someone message me recently saying that while we probably don’t see eye to eye on some things, she felt that I was a safe place for her feelings. What she didn’t know was that was just about the highest praise I could ever hope to receive. For the last three years or so, the thought “I am a safe place” is something I have worked *hard* on. I am a safe place for those I love. I am a safe place for myself. I am a safe place for those seeking it. 2020 has been a year where I’ve had to use this thought over and over. I’m so glad I’ve had a couple of years trying on that thought because I am in a place where I truly believe it. I don’t know where I’m really going with this, but to say that I hope I can be a safe place for anyone here that is looking for that. Your name is safe with me.
True story: when Joaquin was in kindergarten, his teachers voted him “Most Likely to be President” at his graduation. And while I by NO means am trying to make my son’s birthday post a political one, I AM going to take a second to sing this boy’s praises. He is KIND. He is so intelligent. His heart is so GOOD! He is always always the very first person to apologize when he’s recognized he’s done something wrong. He 1000% gives me hope that we CAN raise kids to be anti-racist. He is silly and loves a good pun. He includes doctors, nurses, scientists, and Black people in all of his prayers. He melts at the mere sight of his baby sis and he’s assured me he will never be too old to hold his mama’s hand. Happy Birthday to my sweet son. I am proud to be his mom. Joaquin for President!
First day back at church since March. First day attending as a family of SIX! (How do I have four children...?) And thank goodness the boys’ church shoes still fit after all this time. Counting all my blessings. #sharegoodness
Normally when I see people do #fridayintroductions , it’s because they have a bunch of new followers to their page. Well, guess what. That’s the opposite for me. I’ve been losing followers like crazy because sometimes I talk politics and then people leave in droves. But the ones who disagree and stick around anyway? I’d like to think it’s because they can see that I really try to listen and learn. And they see that above else, I believe in being KIND. But because I haven’t done one of these, like, ever? I thought I would share 7 things about me. 1. The walls could be crumbling in my house and I’d still have to make the bed! 2. I’m super liberal. And Christian. Guys, we exist! 3. I have a major sweet tooth. You could argue that all my teeth are sweet :) 4. My body likes to give birth at really inopportune times. 5. If you ask me to keep a secret, I will carry it to my grave. 6. My secret talent is identifying actors and what they’ve been in. And if I can’t figure it out, it drives me crazy. I wish it were a more useful talent, but it is what it is 😂 7. I can be pretty patient and tolerant. Unless you’re chewing loudly anywhere near me and then I’m probably trying to figure out a way to throw your food down the garbage disposal 😬😂 Okay! There’s my list! Now I want you to tell my ANYTHING about you! Where are you from? What makes your skin crawl? Why do you follow me? Do you prefer the cookie or the cream in the Oreo? Do you have a loud laugh? What’s something uniquely you?!
||SIX MONTHS Half a year with this girl. Multiple times a day, someone in our family will say, “Is she the best baby in the world?!” Let me tell ya, 2020 would be a whole bigger mess for our family if she weren’t the bright spot on it. She was born a week after the country went into lockdown, so we sort of measure her life and the pandemic at the same time. Hoping it ends sometime before she heads to college though or chances are high she’ll be that super awkward roommate who has no idea how to talk to people 😬🤪 #palomaruthgrows
