If not for the pandemic, I would've been back from a trip from Taiwan by now. So many plans that we're forced to abandon. So many what could've beens. For now, we stay still. I miss traveling.
Still waiting for the day when eating pizza and grabbing a bottle of wine without masks are okay. But for now, we stay put. We try to take care. I miss going out.
2019: I traveled solo in Hualien and joined a group tour to Taroko National Park where everyone was only speaking Chinese. The guide knew few English words enough to get by, but I'm glad I found another solo traveler (hi Chloe!) who helped bridge the language gap. 😂 . . . Going through old photos because I badly want to get out of the house. Oh well 💁♀️
Almost one year ago. ☀️
One of the last few photos on my phone before the world turned itself upside down and we were forced to stay at home just to be safe. Sometimes I wish we could just go back to the "precedented" times and go on with our plans and goals and little trips. But alas, here we are. I suppose it's the universe's way of telling us we can't control shit and that we need to trust that things would fall eventually into its rightful places.
By the time this pandemic is over, I swear I'll take a two week leave just to stay by the beach and enjoy the outdoors.
Take me away. 🌄
You've been judged 👀
Of the life I dream about, you're what's already here. ✨
To new beginnings. 🌄
In 2008, my mom signed me up to stay in a dorm near Raymundo Gate. While it's just a stone's throw away from the campus, the landlady was not exactly the kindest -- she'd lock the gate at 11 PM and I'd have to find refuge sleeping in a friend's apartment, she'd ask for extra fees for unreasonable items, and that's just the beginning of a long list of reasons why I should've transferred to another place. That dorm was not perfect, but I stayed there until I graduated because of these girls (plus Ate @ellenano and @thepurplepenguinph). They were my constant source of laughs, of series to binge-watch, of comfort during times when things felt out of control. Fast forward to 11 years (!!!) and I'm glad that I still get to spend time with them, even if I need to travel hours from the north just to hangout. 😬 Our stories have shifted, our rants upgraded (from acads to work and bosses and other huge life decisions), and I'm glad that I still get to see them grow despite the distance and despite not being able to catch up with each other as often as when we lived inside our little dorm. Wouldn't have wanted things any other way. Thank you for sticking with me through the years. Love you guys. ❤️❤️❤️
Missing the days when I can easily witness sunsets and enjoy quiet afternoons by the beach. 🌅
