I kept the Dining Room #tablecenterpiece simple but DRAMATIC courteous of the pampas grass plumes from my in-laws back yard. 🌾🏆🌾 Don’t forget to post a pic of your Fall decorations in your feed and tag it #ItsAColorfulLifeTour for a chance to be featured on Friday in stories. Showing hospitality by inviting others over for dinner is one of our favorite ways to love on our friends and family. But honestly, after I've cleaned house, set the table, and cooked dinner, dessert is often an afterthought! I was thrilled to learn that Oklahoma @HomelandStores are now carrying "Mississippi Made- New York Approved" @cottonbluescheesecakes in 3 signature flavors. Cotton Blues Cheesecakes are made with 7 simple premium ingredients, and believe me when I say ingredients make a difference, this Original flavor is probably THE BEST cheesecake I've ever tasted! I'll definitely be keeping my freezer stocked with one of these from now on (I'll be trying the Sea-Salted Caramel next) so I'll be ready any time to welcome guests into our home. When the dessert is this pretty, who needs a centerpiece? Raise your hand if you believe it's acceptable to eat dessert first! 🙋🏻♀️ #ad @cottonblues #cottonbluescheesecake #homelandstores

October is 🎀Breast Cancer Awareness🎀 month, and my friend Shannon from @collynraye asked me to help spread the word and ask "Do you need a squeeze?" Shannon is a breast cancer survivor herself, and I think it's fairly safe to say that all of us will be touched by breast cancer at some point in our lives in one way or another, it seems so rampant these days. Just in my close family we've had three cases, all caught early thank the Lord, proving how vital early detection and continued research is! So friends (and even young ladies), start getting your yearly mammograms when you're supposed to and don't let those yearly check ups slide! Shannon is generously donating 100% of the proceeds from sales of this t-shirt and the pink ribbon masks in her shop, as well as 20% of all other Collyn Raye shop proceeds for the month of October to breast cancer research. Some of my favorite pieces of ruffled gingham goodness are from Shannon's shop (swipe to see!). I've made a donation to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation through the Collyn Raye website, if you'd like to join me or shop for this cute tee, a pink ribbon mask or darling outfit, click through the link on the @collynraye profile page. Wouldn't it be amazing to have even the smallest part in helping to eradicate this terrible disease? #dimplesandtangleshome #colorismyjam #diyblogger #BHGStylemaker #okcblogger #breastcancerawarenessmonth #needasqueeze #breastcancersupport #breastcancerawareness🎀 #breastcancerresearch #stayhealthymyfriends #collynraye #donatetoday #breastcancerresearchfoundation @bcrfcure #researchisthereason #saveyourlife
Sneak peek... It’s A Colorful Life Fall blog hop tours begin on Monday! And this year all of the hosts are SO excited to invite YOU, our IG friends, to participate too! Stay tuned on Monday for details on how you can share your Fall decor and have a chance to be featured! Hope you all had a great Saturday. I think I got all of my steps in today going back and forth from the camera to my subject one million times... photo shoots always take lots of tiny adjustments here and there! My Fall Porch is on the blog today! Tap the link in my profile to go straight to the post with more photos, all of the details, and a mini tutorial for how to make the mini pumpkin wreath. Speaking of, thanks for all of the love on that post here last night, you all are the best!!! 🎃💚💙💛💗🧡🎃
The people have spoken! Last week in stories, I showed you this wreath that I made late in the season last year but never posted about it. I used the same colors as I did for my big bowl of colorful pumpkins but kind of hated how it turned out once it was all put together... something just wasn't working for me. I shared how I was about to just spray it all one color- white or pink, paint the stems gold, and move on. But, I spent SO much time on all of those colors and gluing on all of those tiny pumpkins that I couldn't quite bear to do it. So, when the overwhelming majority of you messaged and told me how much you LOVED it (only a few said you didn’t like it either😜), you totally changed my mind and I decided to try a few tweaks first. I painted all of the stems gold (never got around to that last year) and added a black and white bow (had a hot pink one previously but this was a popular suggestion from you all!) and now I'm completely in love with it on my front door. My Fall front porch will be on the blog tomorrow! (Paint color SW Dignity Blue, mini pumpkins from @dollartree and @michaelsstores, gingham ribbon from @hobbylobby)
Kinda liking this little set up. 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃 Maybe I WON’T move all of these to the porch after all! 🤔😂 (Big pumpkins-$3.89 at @aldiusa yesterday!)
Late last Spring (totally on his own) my son decided he wanted to plant some pepper plants (why that specific notion occurred to him, I have no idea!😂). He purchased the plants and a few supplies, researched the size of pot they would need, how much sunlight and water they required, how to keep the roots from rotting, and how to tend them as they grew. All Summer he took care of them. Watered them and fed them when needed. Added stakes when they began to grow tall and droop over from their weight. We were all excited when the first blossoms began to appear, turn into buds, then the tiniest little green peppers that began to grow and grow. Then, August arrived and it was time for him to go back to school. None of the peppers were ready to eat yet. He has never been able to join us for a meal where we’ve used them as an ingredient (although he ate a few raw ones in his dorm room!). This has been a good reminder to me that we may never reap the benefits of the hard work we do day by day. We may not enjoy the fruits of our labor, reap the benefits of what we’ve sown, or sit under the shade of a tree we’ve planted. *Many times what we learn in the process is more valuable than the end result.* But at the same time, there’s often a nice reward to hard work, even if others may be the ones enjoying it! Good job @caleb.griffin.04! ❤️🌱
Our weather has been so glorious for the past few weeks we’ve been spending every possible moment outside! I’ve been tempted to set up a table in front of the outdoor fireplace again liked did here a few years ago... and FYI I shared my favorite recent $17 Amazon purchase in my stories tonight!
