You never forget your kids third attempt, in week 29, at their most recent first day of school!! Kids are BACK in Vic 💪
Romance does NOT have to die in lockdown. And, side win, it’s WAY cheaper! 👍 (Please don’t get on my back about how the Z and the heart should be the other way around to spell “Zo”, I get it. I was freestyling with a high concept two sauce manoeuvre and could hear her coming down the stairs and I panicked. Ok? Happy? I panicked.)
Day 3 of “A Touch Of Pink To See P!nk In The Sink!” This is day 3 of my effort to wear a touch of pink for 30 days (straight) to win a trip for 2 from a local radio station to go see P!nk live in concert in Helsinki...all expenses paid!! Don’t worry, I know it’s a super long shot to win because remembering to wear a touch of pink EVERY DAY without missing a SINGLE day (and getting photo evidence!) will be a challenge and also because to the best of my knowledge the competition does not exist. Anyway, lockdown’s great how are you going?
3 Things. 1. It’s no secret I think my wife is a 5000% smoke show, and here she is looking 🔥 in @stellarmag for the launch of her new book Back To Sleep (which is great) 2. Since it’s International Photographers Day today I think it’s also appropriate to give props to the professionals that help create these shots. Sure it’s easier when you have a good subject, but the skill required to execute the pic at just the right moment is almost superhuman, so a huge thank you to the artist who captured these stunning images of my favourite woman. 3. Not 100% sure it’s International Photographers Day
As a proud one eighth Italian man (and it is my dominant eighth) I was of course stoked to find out Lego Masters is now screening in my home land. I was however a leeeeeeetle bit offended that I was not picked to dub my own voice as I feel I nailed the audition. You be the judge. Anyway, ti amo Italy. #forzaLEGO 🇮🇹 🧱
Tooday in skool we lernd how to ty up the teechr and laff at him then eet chips wyl he trid to escayp #lockdownlearning2.0
Ever since our first Valentines Day, on any Day Where Cards Are Given @zotheysay has upheld the tradition of trying to nail the most generic card/message combo and it gets me every time 👌❤️ (um, then obviously there is a follow up card with a higher word count.... I guess alarm bells will ring the year she says “no second card this year” but thankfully it appears I’m safe for now).
I’ve been caked! Much like how Christmas of 1974 was brought forward to Dec 24 because “everyone was too excited to wait” my Fathers Day Surprise Cake was launched a day early due to the extreme enthusiasm of one of the members of the organising committee, who will remain nameless. I’m green with fatherly joy (the less popular green emotion). 💚
Dear kids, I’m sending you these two photos to try to explain what Melbourne Lockdown was like in 2020. For a few weeks you could only leave the house once a day, to get essential supplies. Of course, each journey into the wild was taking a risk so you had to make ABSOLUTELY sure the items you were getting were critical. Very few things passed this stringent test. Aside from that, we built a ton of pillow forts. The end. Love Dad.
“If you can clip a beard, you can clip a kid!” - Edward Clipperhands, 1996. Great movie, memorable quote. And I’d like to point out at no point in that movie did Ed say “without drawing blood” so the second picture still fits the saying. 😬
Ok. In Melbourne it’s a bit of a slog at the moment. BUT, the halfway mark of Lockdown 2.0 is this Sunday and my friend, genius chef and all round Legend of the Melbourne Food scene @benshewry and I thought that deserved celebrating by attempting yet another Cook a Long Cook In. If you’ve not joined us for one, the premise is simple. Swipe across for what we’re cooking, buy and prep the ingredients. Log onto my insta live this Sunday at 7pm melb time. Have one of the greatest Food Dudes on the planet (Ben) instruct a Food Dufus (me) on how to make something crazy delicious, and the people in your house benefit (and my wife gets a very sloppy version of what Ben was trying to get me to make). It’s a lotta fun and hey, especially if you’re in Melb there ain’t much else on so let’s hang out together (although all global citizens welcome). This time it’s a little different. We want you to ORDER IN YOUR MAIN (Zo and I will be doing pizza) to support somewhere local, and then Ben will take us through a dessert and cocktail. And the dessert is something truly audacious: a soufflé. I don’t even know what that really is, I just remember when they promo it on Masterchef there’s a lot of “Bvvoooom” sound effects and people looking stressed. If we get nothing else from this lockdown at least we can all say we made a “Halfway Soufflé” together. See you Sunday, let keep those spirits, and calories, right up guys! 💙💪
