The practice of mindfulness is especially important at this time. We spoke with @chibsmeditation and he shared with us his favourite mindfulness practice | Five Senses Exercise. • This short meditation calms your mind by using your senses to focus on whats around you instead of focusing on your thoughts. • Here are the steps to complete this exercise: • 1. Notice 5 things that you can see. Look around you, become aware of your surroundings. • 2. Notice 4 things you can feel. You might notice the touch of fabric against your skin, the cool breeze against your skin, tingles or pulses in your hands, or the air entering and leaving your nostrils. • 3. Notice 3 things that you can hear. You might notice birds chirping, people talking, the sound of traffic, or the sound of an appliance in the next room. • 4. Notice 2 things you can smell. Bring attention to scents you might not usually notice, both pleasant and unpleasant. It could be the smell of food cooking, or the faint whiff of deodorant, or the smell of trees. • 5. Finally, notice 1 thing you can taste.
