We continue to amplify Black British voices throughout Black History Month UK. Here's a reminder from @tiwalowla of @confidentandkillingit to be kind to yourself, every day. ✨ "Throughout my teenage years and early 20’s, I had a very toxic relationship with my body. I was constantly comparing my body to other people's, and it made me feel miserable. I was exercising for all the wrong reasons. My goal was always weight loss instead of focusing on building a fit and healthy body. Starting my self-love journey helped me see how beautiful my body actually is. It challenged me to focus on the amazing things my body does for me as I live out my purpose. I feel so grateful for my body now regardless of much I weigh. Now I don’t only focus on HIIT workouts, but I also love pilates, dancing and core strengthening. I love exercises that lean out my body and tone it. Over the years, I’ve learnt to be compassionate towards myself and always check in with my body to see what it needs. Somedays I feel super pumped, and some days I prefer low energy workouts, and that’s totally ok. To anyone struggling to love their body, remember that there’s more to you than what you weigh. Look in the mirror every day and say “I love you” to yourself. Even on the days, you don’t feel like it, say kind things to yourself because you are worthy of love. You are good enough just the way you are. There’s also no such thing as the perfect body, so don’t compare yourself to other people. Bodies come in all shapes and sizes, so make sure your social media feed also reflects that." #Gymsharkwomen
