Body acceptance/neutrality starts with grieving the thin ideal, or even mourning your own thinner self. For me this was the toughest part of finally reaching my own body acceptance, because it’s very easy to find yourself romantasising a time where you’re at your lowest, both mentally and physically. Then add on the bonus of having your weight loss glorified, and suddenly you’re sad that you no longer live in the thinner version of yourself anymore. The key thing to remember is; feeling denial and anger is SO completely NORMAL when it comes to living in a body larger than you used to (especially when most of the time we grieve our body from when we were LITERALLY children). Between diet culture and social ideals we have had the false claim that ‘good health CAN’T be present at any size’ drummed into us everyday. We look in the mirror, we sigh at our weight gain, and we truly believe that we should be thinner to be healthier. It’s simply NOT true. I am my own living proof. Do I live in a bigger body than I used to? Yes. But do I live in a healthier body and mind? Also yes. These jeans may be busting at the seams now, but at least my negative body image isn’t.✨ . 📸@charlottepeirce_ Visit @gymmtips for more 💞💓
EVERY👏🏼SEASON👏🏼SERVES👏🏼 A👏🏼PURPOSE👏🏼 5 Years Down & a Lifetime to Go! That’s the thing about running; as long as time permits, it will always be there for me. There is no timeframe, no right or wrong; you’re here to live your life and feel good about it. Trust the timing of your life. Running has led me to do the most amazing things in life: Just 5 years ago, my journey began when I ran my first 5K race. Little did I know what that race did for me; it set my journey to flight. The things I have accomplished from running pregnant twice up to the day my water broke for each, to scoring a BQ on my first marathon, to listening to my body through it all, being the best motherly example, all the way to giving my body the love it needs. No matter what the journey looks to you, make sure you are living and finding a way to be happy. I have learned so much this year and I can honestly say I am better for it. The journey never ends; you may have to change directions but ALWAYS KEEP GOING. Note to self: This is YOUR journey, your body, your mindset; dig deep, own it and start doing things for you and by you. Not everyone will understand and that is OK. BUT at the end of the day, don’t trade your authenticity for approval. Life is too short. Just continue to do what makes you happy because at the end of the day everyone deserves happiness and a life they love. I have always believed that everything happens for a reason. Find joy in your journey that you are actually living. The first thing you should know about me is that I’m not you. Another woman’s success is not the absence of your own. It’s your journey, your story, your life. If you want to fly, give up everything that weighs you down👏🏼 Visit @gymmtips 🖤 for more! . cc: @daniellehartruns

Hands up if you can relate 🙋♀️ Bloating is such a common issue, especially on certain times during the month or when your body is highly stressed. Make sure to always consider seeing a doctor if you feel that bloating is chronic for you. Here are some tips for you, you could try to reduce bloating: 1. Go for a walk or try yoga poses 2. Take a warm bath, soaking and relaxing 3. Don’t eat too fast (chew your food thoroughly) & don’t talk while eating to avoid swallowing air 4. Cut down on salt 5. Avoid soda drinks and chewing gums 6. Increase your activity & water intake 7. Discover food allergies you have and avoid them. If you feel like bloating causes too much pain for you, please see a doctor as soon as possible! ❤️ 📸 @danaemercer Visit @gymmtips for more 💞💓
