Se dice que se llaman así porque originalmente se hicieron con los intestinos de los cerdos. Hoy en día están hechos con caucho extraído del árbol de caucho conocido como "Palo de hule" (castilla elastica).⁣ .⁣ Colloquially known as "pig-intestine balls", these balls are one of the most popular traditional toys of Guatemala. It is said that they are called this way because originally they were indeed made with the intestines of the pigs. 📦⁣ Ermita Concepción La Conquistadora⁣ Salcajá, Quetzaltenango⁣ 14°53′09″N 91°27′34″W⁣ Photo by @pauljanob_travel⁣ .⁣ This church is a national monument and it is considered the first catholic temple ever constructed in Guatemala. It was built in 1524 and it kept in its interior the first image of the Virgin of Concepción brought from Spain. An interesting fact is that the daughter of Pedro de Alvarado, Guatemala's conquistador, was baptized in here.⁣ .⁣ Esta iglesia es un monumento nacional y se considera el primer templo católico construido en Guatemala. Fue construida en 1524 y en su interior permaneció la primera imagen de la Virgen de Concepción traída de España. Un dato interesante es que la hija de Pedro de Alvarado, el conquistador de Guatemala, fue bautizada aquí.
