This is how I spent my birthday this year. Not quite what I expected but I still had a lot of fun. And all the best foods! 😋 . We started the day with avocado bagels, one with feta and one with a poached egg and cheddar. Then I opened my presents and we played Monopoly Deal, which was so much fun. Afterwards, we had a picnic with lots of antipasti and somehow we managed to eat more cake afterwards. I got a smarties sprinkles cake because deep down I’m still a child, and a chocolate cake. In the evening, we kept playing games and ended the day with pizza. I wouldn’t have changed a thing! 😊 . What food would you choose as a special treat? . . . #mybirthdayparty #smartiescake
Rome was definitely the best choice! . We wanted to see one place in Europe after coming back from Asia and we found the best place. Obviously the food was amazing in Rome but there is also so much history there. This is the Roman Forum and the place where the city started. It’s crazy to imagine what it must have been like back in the day... . Have you been to Rome yet? . . . #allroadsleadtorome
This really makes me miss Asia! . It’s a bit funny because we were there for so long and at the end of our trip I was getting a bit jealous of everybody travelling Europe. So we decided to travel more in Europe this year and now I miss Asia. The architecture is just so beautiful there and it has this special vibe that you can’t get anywhere else. I can’t wait to go back again at some point! . Is it just me or do you get travel fomo too? 😜 . . . #letstraveltheworld #iwanttogoeverywhere
Girls just wanna have fun! 💃🏻 . I’m not exactly sure what the point of this shot was but it was fun! Since we went out for sunrise it was around 5am and I was really tired so I was just messing around. It’s important to keep having fun and forget about getting the perfect shot sometimes. . Do you ever go out and take pictures just for fun? . . . #girlsjustwannahavefun
Another beautiful spot in Vietnam! 😍 . Today is just one of those days. I got up way too early, so I’ve been tired for most of the day. I didn’t get much of my to do list done and in general things are taking too long for my taste and I’m struggling to stay in one place. All I want to do right now is get back on the road and explore more places like this one. . But you know what? Everybody has those days and instead of being annoyed about it I am taking a break now and I’ll come back even more motivated tomorrow. Because the only person that can change anything is me and tomorrow I will work on my goals again as much as I can and make things happen! . Have a lovely day and don’t forget to work on your goals too! 😉 . . . #letsdothis #makethingshappen
We came for this view, but then saw something really bad! PLEASE READ what happened! . We saw a lot of animal cruelty on our trip, but this was a special case for us because people pretend that you do something good by saving a turtle that you can buy from them to release it into a lake. I have seen this shared on social media before where people pride themselves on saving a few turtles, which made them feel good. Back then I didn't understand the situation, but in reality those people supported a business that consists of capturing turtles, making them sit in a small bucket in the sun for days until someone buys them to throw them into the water. Just so immediately afterwards they can be caught and sold again. We did some research and there was a lot of proof that this is exactly what happens. I only saw when I made the thumbnail for our video that the two turtles on the floor had a hole drilled into their shells just to tie them up. This was a huge conflict for us because obviously we didn't like the way these animals were treated and we wanted to save them, but we couldn't support such a business that would only result in more animals being captured so these people can make more money. And this is the reason why this was such a bad experience for us. Because people are being tricked into doing something good while in reality they are supporting animal torture without even thinking about it. . If you want to see more about this, I just shared a whole youtube video about this day (link in my bio) and my thoughts on stories. . . . #letsbebetter
Coolest temple in Thailand? You tell me! 🐉 . Fun fact: I wanted to go to this place for years, pretty much ever since I went to Thailand the first time in 2014 and just found out about it right afterwards. But I only figured out a few months ago that this is not actually part of the famous White Temple, but a completely different place... 🙈 Luckily I found it anyway and finally got to see those huge dragons and I absolutely loved it! . This is also the place where I got my super bad sunburn. Does anyone remember that? 🤦🏻♀️ . . . #chiangrai #wathuayplakang
Another successful sunrise mission in Bali! ☀️ . My tips for this location: - Don’t come for sunrise like we did. It’s not easy to walk along the rice fields in the dark, let alone find the right entrance to get to the best spots in the back. We got there even before sunrise and it was already busy anyway. - Remember that you will be walking in the rice fields which are very muddy. So choose your shoes accordingly. - You will have to pay the farmer of the part you are in to take pictures. The places in the front are cheaper but this one in the back is by far the most beautiful. We paid Rp 50k (3€) each to get in. - You don’t have to pay to enter the area. Someone tried to sell us a ticket when we left. After we told him we already paid inside he got on a scooter and left... - Take your time and have a coffee or breakfast in one of the cafes near the entrance and enjoy the view. It will be worth it! 😊 . Have you been here or do you want to go? . . . #explorebali #tegalalangriceterrace
This was one of the first places we discovered on our trip! 😍 . I saw the front of this building before on instagram but I never saw the back of it. Imagine my surprise when I wanted to see what it was like and found this beautiful view. It was so peaceful and far enough from the busy traffic of KL. . So remember that it’s always worth exploring places yourself instead of finding spots you see on instagram! 😜 . . . #hiddengems
This shoot did not go as planned! 😂🤦🏻♀️ . Let me tell you what happened behind the scenes of this picture. I wanted to find the best spot to watch the sunset over Hong Kong and this is the place I chose. It took incredible long to find it, we walked through the protests twice and had to go through a shopping mall so we could get to the water. By the time we actually made it the sun was almost gone and it suddenly started pouring with rain. So we waited it out and got up there as soon as it got less. The best part was that while I was stood there to take the picture, casually standing in the rain to watch the water as you do, a woman walked between me an Alex 3 times because she was filming a music video on her phone that I am now featured in. If anyone ever finds it please let me know! So it didn’t quite go as planned but it sure is a story to remember! 😜 . Do you have any stories like this? Please tell me! . . . #explorehongkong
Honestly exploring Vietnam in the middle of the day is not easy because it’s really hot, but totally worth it when you get to see places like this! 😍 . This bridge leads to a beautiful temple in the middle of the lake. It’s a very traditional place with a lot of history. There were a lot of statues of tortoises and one person told the story of a tortoise and a crane and how they helped each other. First the crane had to land on the tortoise on the water and then the crane saved the tortoise from drowning. It was really nice to hear the story behind all the statues and understand people’s believes. . In case you didn’t know we also vlogged our visit here as well as the famous train street in Hanoi. The link is in my bio! 😊 . . . #visithanoi #templeofjademountain
