Puuuuush up. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "I want to be able to do push ups from my toes" ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is one of the most common fitness goals we hear- and we're all for it! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It's super achievable, and there are so many exercises to help get you there. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Our top tips: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1. Start off easy. Do your push ups from your knees, or if you're not quite there yet push off the wall at an angle to simulate a push up. This will strengthen your chest muscles and help you work towards the next step! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2. Do one every day. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There's no point doing 10 pushups from your knees and expecting results. Do 5 from your knees (or wall) each day while you're waiting for your dinner to cook, or while you're watching tv and soon you'll be on your toes! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you need extra help, ask us about personal training!

You know how some people just make you smile? For us that's Tayla. Tayla has been lovely enough to share with us a bit about her experience with personal training, and how it's impacted her. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "As a person with a recurring spinal injury, signing up for a gym membership where I felt comfortable & supported was a big deal for me. When I first became a member of FFF I was offered 5 free personal training sessions. I’ve never had a personal trainer before so I was excited to take up the offer! I started my trial sessions with Emily Nalu and I was able to easily communicate with her what my injuries were, what I wanted to work on and what goals I wanted to achieve and we got started. We worked on my technique and form and how to safely lift weights and use the various equipment and before I knew it, going to the gym became so much easier and I was lifting more weight than I ever thought I could! (That’s a massive deal for someone with a spinal injury!) So, I decided to continue with my personal training sessions with Emily after my first 5 and I haven’t looked back since! It’s been nearly a whole year.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Before starting my sessions with Emily, going to the gym was difficult and I never felt I was doing the exercises correctly but I didn’t know how to fix what I was doing myself so I became frustrated and would more often than not, give up on classes and exercise in general after only a few months. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Since beginning sessions with Emily, she has helped me become more confident, increased my strength and stamina and now I enjoy going to the gym and exercising more than I ever have before.
