The ocean to us is more than an ally, more than a friend, more than a co-existing thing... it is a lifeline and the reason we exist. Without it, we suffer. Today I stand with my own heroes such as @sylviaearle and #Jean-MichaelCousteau @oceanfuturessociety as we speak as part of the United Nations World Oceans Day. If you don’t know much about the UN Global Goals, there are 17 goals to which world leaders have signed up to and we can all push for action. Each goal has the power to create a better world by 2030, by ending poverty, fighting inequality and addressing the urgency of climate change. Part of my mission working with the UN, is to promote the goals that protect our planet. So today I want to make some noise about Goal 14: Life below Water. This sets out how we can conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources. We need to protect at least 30% of the ocean by 2030 to make this work. Who is with me? #worldoceanday
