Today is World Mental Health Day, and while I think everyday should be used to promote mental health awareness and suicide prevention, I wanted to take a moment to share some of my personal experiences with mental health in hopes someone reads it and relates in some way is encouraged to talk to someone and ask for support. The link is in my bio for anyone wanting to have a squiz. As always, my DMs are always open for anyone who is in need of someone to speak to, and I will try my best to support you in any way I can 🕊
We tried to get a nice photo... this was the best we managed 😂 Hobart has turned on the sun today and it’s a beautiful day to be out enjoying it ☀️ 🍃
Absolutely loving that the weather is warming up and we can get out and about in our beautiful state! We have a few little trips planned already and I can’t wait to share as much as possible with everyone ☀️
I’ve given up hating myself. That shits exhausting. I’m don’t look in the mirror and pick myself apart anymore. I don’t slap on a face of makeup just to go to the shop. I don’t stress what other people are thinking anymore. And it’s so freaking freeing. When you live your life for someone else’s approval, you’ll never be happy. Your mind will be so consumed with stress you will never feel content. Once you learn to love yourself, when you realise every single person in the world is different and we ALL have our insecurities and our “flaws”... you’ll realise how god damn beautiful we all are. It’s taken me a long long time to respect my body for what is it, and I hope everyone reading this can find that love for themselves too 🤍🕊
I can’t believe my baby is 5! 🎈 🦕
Brunch is quickly becoming my favourite thing again. Drooling over this deliciousness from Machine Laundry Cafe in Salamanca 🤤
This though 👏🏽 No more looking in the mirror hating myself. No more feeling guilty for taking time for myself. No more letting my inner mean girl control the way I think about myself. I’ve made mistakes, I’ve treated people badly and I’ve done things I regret. But I have apologised as much as possible, learnt from those situations and made changes to make sure I don’t make those decisions again. I think everyone in the world can say they’ve struggled with this at some point, and we shouldn’t. We need to learn to love ourselves, even if we don’t look exactly how we want, or we’ve made some stupid decisions or we aren’t where we want to be in life yet. Take a step back, focus on the positive and see the good. 🕊
I hope you always stay wild and free... maybe just a little less wild when we are in the supermarket please and thank you 🙃 anyone else’s kid walk into the shops and it’s like something else comes over them and they just go a lil... crazy? 🤨
Last night I joined Justin & Chase from @theprojectofchange in putting these positive quotes around the city of Hobart in hopes they brighten even just one persons day. If you are local and see these, we would love it if you could take a snap and post it with the hashtags #tpocau & #theresmoretosay // - Today is RUOK Day. I think we all know the importance of asking our friends and family is they are doing okay, but there’s more to say after ‘are you okay?’ It’s a hard conversation to have, but a necessary one. If you think someone around you seems a little off, maybe you know they’re going through a difficult time or even just because... opening that line of communication and showing that you are there to offer support can make the world of difference to someone who needs it. For tips on how to get the conversation started and other resources please visit @ruokday 🤍 As always, my inbox is always open for anyone who needs to chat and I will always try my hardest to offer support as best I can x
LOVIN’ LOCAL How devine does this look 🤤 I was lucky enough to visit @puddleduckvineyard and try this out for myself. To read more about Puddleduck please go to the link in my bio 🍷
Parenting when you’re struggling with your mental health is hard. I mean being a mum in general is a challenge of itself, add in a constant battle with your mind and it pretty much feels impossible to manage. I am beyond thankful I have this kid by my side. He is so loving and patient, when I’m struggling it’s like he knows it’s time for a relaxing day at home on the couch. He will grab some snacks, snuggle up, and chill. I mean, he absolutely drives me crazy with his attitude and his temper and his noise the rest of the time 😂 but on those days I just need some rest, I am so grateful he has the compassionate nature he does. My brain is always telling me I’m not a good enough parent, that he deserves better and that I’m not worthy of being his Mum. But seeing him be completely himself, laughing and being silly, telling me he loves me and jumping into a cuddle and a kiss, I’m reminded that together is exactly where we are supposed to be 🤍
