Beyond the barriers of the pro peloton, Cyclist headed to the Hautes-Pyrenees (with thanks to @velotopo) to discover roads free from the pressure of the sport’s biggest races. Equally stunning as their more famous neighbours, the Cirque de Troumouse and Col de Tentes should be part of every cyclist’s bucket list. https://cyclist.com.au/travel/luz-saint-sauveur-france

Beyond the barriers of the pro peloton, last year we ventured to the Hautes-Pyrénées with @velotopo to discover roads free from the pressure of the sport’s biggest races. That was then and while our upcoming plans have been put on hold for the moment, we’re excited to know that no matter the timeframe, these mountains will be here well beyond our lifetime – for generations to enjoy. #mybigridepyrenees Photos: @beardmcbeardy

While our men’s and women’s TP squads depart Berlin without the usual medal haul, those behind the scenes are confident that come Tokyo, both teams will be ready. Let’s get behind @australiancyclingteam as they look forward to the coming days of racing.

Day One of #Berlin2020 Track Worlds and our @australiancyclingteam can be proud of their performances. Reigning world champions @stephmorton28 @kaarlemcculloch took silver while the men’s sprint squad of @nathan_hart4 @mattricho0 @thomascornish_ rounded out the podium in third. Sadly, both men’s and women’s team pursuit title defence came to and end but both will no doubt take plenty away ahead of the Tokyo Olympics. Photos: Casey Gibson

Crafted from highly exclusive and top secret Japanese Ministry of Defence-grade carbon fibre, the all-new @canyon Ultimate CF Evo lineup smashes the lightweight performance road category into a new dimension. With a 6kg disc and 5.68kg rim brake model sliding comfortably under UCI weight class, these featherweight weapons are proof the modern road offering can, when engineers are given unlimited scope, be built well under the currently standard. Australia’s most iconic and oldest one-day race, ‘The Warny’ is also one of the longest in the world at 262km. The Melbourne to Warrnambool might not be the hilliest one-day race on the calendar but what it lacks in elevation it doubles down on often challenging weather conditions and peloton-shattering winds. This year, the spoils go to two new winners in the form of @trekky91 and @matildaraynolds who put in valiant rides to take out the men’s and women’s races respectively. For those who crossed the finish line within the time cut, a huge thumbs up as just finishing this brute is a victory in itself. Photos: @chronis71

“This race goes back a long time and there's been some big names and a lot of great riders have ridden this race… yeah… to attach my name onto that trophy, it’s pretty unreal.” Jai Hindley takes out the overall classification in Australia’s oldest stage race, the @heraldsuntour. In an exciting finale to the race, Kaden Groves picked up his second stage win to cap off a sensational tour his Mitchelton-Scott squad. Photos @chronis71 #suntour #heraldsuntour

Another dominant performance by @teamsunweb @jhindley_ in today’s mountain-top finish at Mount Buller but not without a serious @heraldsuntour battle on the road. The young West Australian was guided perfectly by his teammates before duly taking the stage victory ahead of surprise package @seb.berwick who pushed it all the way to the line. The race continues.
