Artworks are exhibited by themes or "viewing rooms" and accompanied by six full weeks of online programming, including artist talks, studio visits and more! Purchasing art made by women artists supports the gap in pay, auction market, press and exhibition representation of women in the arts.

Twyla Tharp said “The real secret to creativity is to go back and remember”. So while I’m waiting for linen to arrive so I can paint this week, I decided to look back. This painting - Me and Mrs Rey - is from one of my favorite bodies of work, my Naked series. This one is hanging at @contemporainartgallery in Baton Rouge.

#wip This is how it begins - a few random marks. Sometimes I just like to hang it this way, unfinished and waiting. The flavors take time to marry (and the oil to “dry”) and while they hang on the studio wall, I feel them until the next marks seem so obvious that it’s hard to believe it was hanging there unfinished. It’s like that for me, a kind of all or nothing experience which I repeat over and over without even realizing it! It’s Thursday, so I’m more than halfway there 😉.
