"Please help me to judge What's important, what's not, To change what I can In the time that I've got. Please help me to choose What's best for my life Today and tomorrow without all the strife. Please help me to learn How to take a step back To see my world clearly To know how to act. Please help me to trust That my instincts are true And use what I feel To guide what I do." _____ Photo: Alannah O | Sep 16
Cozy, creative corners.🥰😍 ———— _________ That's what my favorite social media pages feel like. Cozy, creative corners not only usher in inspiration, they inspire conversation. A couple days ago, you guys joined me in a conversation about 'What makes a comment racist' and I want to take the time to thank you for your input. Communication is crucial in all relationships, and as our community grows and we interact with more people from all walks of life, our communication skills have to be in tip-top shape to keep up with our diverse community. If you missed the posts in Insta-Story click on the highlight entitled 'Racism?'. An informative conversation was had about how we can communicate in healthy ways with people of color. As mentioned, I've never experienced direct racism so I wasn't sure how to process the two interactions that left me feeling uncomfortable and offended. Your input offered lots of insight. Everyone didn't share the same views and I loved that. In order for us to achieve understanding, we must be able to examine multiple sides to any issue. Thank you. Peace. Love. Light ✨
The practice of mindfulness is more than just a fad for me; it is a way of life. #Mindfulness is defined as: ‘a mental state achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, used as a therapeutic technique.’ ____ Whenever I find my mind wandering off too far into the future or ruminating excessively over my past, I bring myself back to the PRESENT. In all that I do. In my every move. The act of mindfulness has made my life so rich. I get to soak up all the delicious goodness from every single moment. Something about mindfulness makes me feel like I am getting more out of life. Now that - I dig Peace. Love. Light. Photo: Alannah O | Sep 16
Let’s remember to be a little more patient with each other as we start a new week. We have a new normal. A way forward. Let’s be there for each other. Let’s lift each other up. Let’s be kind. Let’s be sensitive; empathic. Let’s have constructive conversations about our curriculum system, global warming and climate change. Let’s love on each other; like it’s Valentines Day ... but like - BETTER. I love you #Bahamas. I love you my friends and neighbors ❤️
We are stronger together. Today was so amazing! The @wckitchen will be providing food for #HurricaneDorian survivors INDEFINITELY! Click the link in bio to register! I’d like to say more but my heart ... #BahamasStrong #Bahamas
In your truest nature and purest form; that’s the best of you.
Live footage of me trying to be prim and proper but my flap is open. Something is always a little skewed ... and I’ve learned to live with that. Moreover, I’ve learned how to use my quirks and mistakes to my advantage. When things don’t go as planned, think: ‘how can I adjust the plan to accommodate my new position?’ Keep it simple. Everything doesn’t require frustration, anger or rage. Keep crushing your goals. Keep believing in yourself. Go with the tide. #InMyFeelings #FeelingGrateful #Thankful #MessyButBadAss 📸: @_mrndo
