visiting family back home this week. just did my first bit of fitnessing in the last 6 days (yes holy tits 6 days of no training). Noticed my mind starting to rust over the last few days, which is my cue that I need to push and pull heavy things to remove it. Had a nice few hours yesterday sitting with my grandparents and watching the birds at their feeders. They’re both in their 80s, grandfather isn’t as mobile as he once was, but they love each other and stay happy doing puzzles, reading, bird watching, and listening to NPR. They are both retired special ed professors and I believe they’re doing life right. When they talk, I listen. Living in LA, there’s a level of brokenness in people who have all the fancy toys... perhaps things they’ve purchased to hopefully rid themselves of the cobwebs around their heart. This has confirmed for me that family is true wealth and strength. Connection. Nothing else comes close. ⠀ ___ Will post today’s workout tomorrow.
