Some #ArchMadness views for your Monday 🤙🏽 Would you rather be rappelling off a 100 ft cliff today instead of starting another work week? 😅

My love letter to New Mexico ✨ The New Mexico state motto is “Crescit eundo” meaning “it grows as it goes.” For the longest time I didn’t understand what this meant. But looking back on a beautiful year in the Land of Enchantment, it seems to summarize everything perfectly. “It grows as it goes.” Or, perhaps more appropriately, “she grows as she goes.” Because as I’ve planted new seeds in a new place, my heart and my mind have been opened, and I find myself overflowing with gratitude for my time here. She grows as she goes. New Mexico, your rich culture and warm people have forever changed me. I have a deep appreciation for the indigenous people who came here long before me and I humbly acknowledge that this land is theirs, not mine. Your peoples’ spiritual connection to the land is so apparent and I will strive for a lifetime to achieve that same deeply rooted relationship with Mother Earth. She grows as she goes. New Mexico, your natural beauty is so unsuspecting, so untouched, so incredibly wild. Your vast deserts and impressive mountains whisper to me to slow down, to sit and stay a while, to welcome a slower pace. You’ve also reminded me that the outdoors are truly for everyone. Here, as a blonde white woman, I am almost always the anomaly- which I find incredibly refreshing. Spending time in your beautiful land has given me greater perspective and changed perceptions. She grows as she goes. From the tippy top of Wheeler Peak, to the depths of the Carlsbad Caverns; from the waterfalls of the Jemez to the wild deserts of Abiquiu; from your ancient ruins to your mountain lakes, oh how I’ll miss you. Your culture, your people, your desert, your mountains. And you know I’ve already shed tears over much I’ll miss your food (okay it might’ve been the green chile 😅). You’ve enchanted me, New Mexico. I’ll be dreaming southwest dreams until we meet again🌵 📷: @sarahlotusphoto

“The moment I saw the brilliant, proud morning shine up over the deserts of Santa Fe, something stood still in my soul, and I started to attend... In the magnificent fierce morning of New Mexico one sprang awake, a new part of the soul woke up suddenly, and the old world gave way to a new.” -D.H. Lawrence P.S. I don’t know who needs to hear this but everyday is International Women’s Day👏🏽

A week ago today, we spent the day climbing and rappelling at this rad spot near Moab. But before we left our Airbnb that morning, we fueled up on @KodiakCakes chocolate chip flapjacks. I love starting a long day of adventure with a hearty breakfast that I know will get me through! Pro tip: I like to add a scoop of my favorite protein powder and use high protein almond/cashew milk to bump up that protein content! What’s your favorite way to fuel with Kodiak Cakes? #sponsored #NationalFlapjackDay #KodiakCakes #mysmithsgrocery @mysmithsgrocery

Don’t mind me, I’m just gonna be posting pics of New Mexico for a few days because we move tomorrow and I’m feeling all sentimental about it. Loved this golden hour rappel last fall, peep @samlarsen8 doing what he does best 💛

Y’all know what time it is! 🥳 First day of March means Arch Madness has officially begun! 🙌🏽 Whether you participated last year or you’re new around here, it’s simple. Post your favorite arch photos throughout the month, use the hashtag #ArchMadness, and tag me or send it to me so I can share your shots in my stories! We don’t discriminate against non-Utah arches, I would love to see some from other states! Show me what you got, you nerdy nature lovers 🤓🏜

Happy birthday, my love. I’m glad we could spend your day doing some of your favorite things, climbing and rappelling in the desert with friends. I’m not sure how it’s possible that I seem to love you more and more with each passing year but I’m grateful for this adventurous life we’ve created together. Here’s to a quarter century @samlarsen8, and hopefully many more 💛 📷: the incredibly talented @sarahlotusphoto

I can’t help but think that learning to ice climb last month was the first of many new/hard/scary things I’ll experience this year. A month from today, @samlarsen8 and I will board a plane and fly to Europe and start a new life in a foreign country where we don’t speak the language and hardly know anyone. I feel incredibly grateful for this opportunity but I’m also really scared. But just like learning to ice climb, I know the key will be to take the journey just one step, one hold at a time. Find my groove. Face my fears. And swing freakin’ hard ⛏ Here’s to big moves in 2021, both literal and figurative ✌🏽

If you’re feeling a little extra anxious this week, know that you’re not alone! Today I was trying to identify things that might be contributing to, or at least not helping, the anxiety I’ve been feeling. I realized that I’ve been drinking too much caffeine, listening to too many crime podcasts (😅), procrastinating too many things I need to get done, and not taking care of my body as well as I normally do. Remember to focus on the things you can control and try to let go of the things you can’t. Take care of yourself, you’re worth it 💛
