Today was a special dayā¤ļø I had the great honor of writing the forward for the 20th anniversary edition of Praying the Scriptures over Your Children -which released today! Itās a book that was given to me by one of my mentors when I found I was pregnant with Ember. When she gifted it to me she wrote a note on the inside that read, āThere is nothing more powerful than praying Scriptures over your child and future children. May these pages get worn and be another tool for your new adventure.ā ⣠⣠Now I have two children, and while Iām only a few years into this adventure of motherhood, this book has been a gift that keeps on giving. I love how easy it is to insert my childrenās names into the scriptural prayers. It has helped me to be more creative, specific, and intentional when it comes to praying for and with themšš» Iāve kept this book as a prayer manual in my nightstand drawer where I can easily grab it while nursing a baby at night, or lying in bed early in the morning before the kids are awake. ⣠⣠If you watched my Instagram stories today, I shared a little bit more about what this book means to me and why Iām so passionate about praying for my children.šš» ā£ As far back as memory goes, I remember my mom praying for me AND with me. It was part of my daily bedtime routine throughout my childhood, and I remember praying before meals, sports competitions, going to friends houses, and long car rides. Prayer became a daily rhythm in my life from a young age because of my mom. She prayed for us every single day before we left for school from kindergarten until my senior year of high school! She wouldnāt let us leave the house before she prayed over us. I donāt think she ever missed a day. ⣠⣠My mom modeled a beautiful example of praying for her children, and she still does to this day. Her testimony of prayer is an encouragement that itās never to early to start praying for your children- and you should never stop. ⣠⣠This is one of those books I will gift to my new mama friends for years to come - and one day give to my own children, with the hopes of passing on a life-changing prayer legacyšš» Thank you @jodie_berndt for changing a generation with your wordsā¤ļø

A typical morning: messy bun, coffee stained sweater, cuddled up with my little loves in our āmorning chair,ā reading The Jesus Storybook Bibleā¤ļø

Just some Bode favorites lately that deserved a place in the feedšI love my little dude, squisher, bubba, Bode bearā¤ļø

Once a year I make homemade apple pieš„§ This year I decided to start it while we had friends in town visiting (thanks for putting up with the mess @rachelearls š¤£) didnāt finish it because I wanted to double the crust recipe... but we got to talking and I decided to finish laterš Turns out the crust ends up tasting ten times better when you refrigerate the dough overnight and then bake the next day! Like actually𤤠Donāt ask me for the recipe because Iām one of those people that doesnāt perfectly measure things and the instructions would include a lot of āa little bit of....ā or measurements followed by āishā š¤·š¼āāļø lol. Somehow it always turns out heavenlyš This was my first year doubling the crust though - highly reccomendšš»Iāve always loved baking. Especially during the fall/winter here in Oregonš Ever time I bake something I think to myself about how I wish I made more time for it. Especially because Ember LOVES helping meāŗļø Whatās your favorite thing to bake?šš»

āGod is not found in the multiplicity, but in the simplicity of thoughts and words. If one word suffice for your prayer, keep to that word, and to whatever short sentence will unite your heart with God.ā - Margaret Mary Hallahan

Our girl loves to singš¶ The Blessing by @karijobe and @codycarnes is one of her favorite songs but she also likes to make up her own songs... Especially for long car ridesš swipe right for an exampleš¤£š¤£š¤£Itās a song about how much she loves her dad and all the things she likes to do with him. Excuse my video skills in both videos I was trying to record without her noticingāŗļø

We have a 9 month old!!! Bode bear is our little squishy joy bundle of sweetness. Cutting so many teeth and using them to eat all the foods, always laughing hysterically at his sister, is fascinated by things with wheels on them, and does the cutest litttle worm crawl using only his right toe to propel himself forwardš¤£Forgot to take his 8 month photo so 7 months to 8 months looks like a big jumpš

Hood River in October is straight out of a story bookš We love our annual apple picking tradition with some friends (going on 3 years) exploring all the orchards and driving through the tree-lined country roads bursting with color. As Anne with an āEā would say... āIām so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.ā Now time to make some pieš„§šš

Apple orchard kisses from my girl throughout the years SWIPE RIGHTšš»ššš #applepicking

On Monday we had our quarterly offsite. We spent all day hunkered down in the upper loft of a beach house in Seaside overlooking the oceanš ⣠⣠When I say āweā I donāt mean just Jer and I. Itās been almost two years since we stoleš¬ Jeremyās best friend Dan ( @debtfreecommunity ) from Nike to come work for us full time - one of the best decisions weāve ever madešš» We wouldnāt be able to do what we have done in the last two years without his genius. ⣠⣠As we sat in the upper loft of the beach house going through the 60 page ādeckā šthat Dan had built out for us - recapping our year so far, strategizing for the next three months, and casting vision for 2021 - I had this moment of insane gratitude for ALL the people the Lord has brought into our life and business. Some that weāve known for our entire lives who left their jobs because they believed in us and our mission, and some who we met because they were impacted by our mission so deeply that they reached out to offer their skills and ended up becoming crucial members of our team. ⣠⣠Our books, journals, podcast, @beating50percent @morethanoils etc. itās not just us. Doing what we do requires wearing lots of hats (everyone on our team does) but we balance each otherās strengths and weaknesses so beautifully. When we second guess ourselves or question if what we are doing is worth it, they encourage us to keep going. And when we get ahead of ourselves on a new left field idea, they encourage us to slow downš ⣠⣠All this to say, Iāve realized in the past few days that you might not even know we have these people. If Iām being honest, it feels weird to share about the behind the scenes of our business and what work looks like for us because I feel like it might seem unrelatable, itās not instagramable, or simply that you donāt careš but in the same breathe... I donāt want to mislead you to think that we do everything we do on our own. Cause praise the Lord we donāt. Iām so thankful for our team - that I get to learn from them, alongside them, and that we have the opportunity impact thousands of lives through the tools, rescoures, content, and experiences that we create togetherā¤ļøšš»

Oregon Octoberās are just so dang dreamyš We got some sneak peaks from our family photos and Iām in loveš warning: these photos will be filling my feed over the next few weeksš Thank for always capturing our family so beautifully and authentically @moniqueserraphotography ā¤ļø

Iām not really one for solo selfies on the gramš but @makeupbywhit made me do itšWe took family photos yesterday which is always an eventuful experienceš if youāve ever done a photo shoot with children, you knowš¤š» sharing a little more about it over on @beating50percent
