Look at the sh*t we’re calling love these days⁉️ —————————SWIPE LEFT——————————>>>>>>>>>>> Hi everyone recently I became an oficial volunteer of Turtugaruba Foundation. As a volunteer we must do morning and night walks at the beach every week to see if there any hatching. Doing these walks I have encounter ALOT of plastic pollution so I wanted to dedicate this post to bring awareness to this terrible situation. Maintaining the beaches clean is very important not only for our commerce but most important for our environment. Nesting season in Aruba is from March to September and hatching takes place from May to November. So yes we are in nesting season! 🎊 It is our responsibility to welcome them with clean beaches so they don not have any trouble when nesting or when hatching. PLEASE TAKE NOTE📝 •Obstacles such as beach furniture or recreational equipment may cause nesting females to abort their nesting attempt or may even trap nesting females or hatchlings. •Balloons, plastic bags and other non-degradable litter can kill sea turtles who mistake it for food. •Watch a nesting turtle from a distance. Turtles are very shy and will easily leave without nesting. •Do not drive on the beaches ,vehicles compact sand and make it difficult for turtles to dig into or out the sand. •Nighttime activities and artificial lighting may deter adult females from nesting or disorient emerging hatchlings, leading them inland where they die of dehydration or are crushed by cars. Please report ANY Aruba turtle activity to the 24 hour Turtle Hotline: 592-9393 And for more information visit: www.turtugaruba.org Thank you!🐢💙
