12 years ago today on Oct. 17th, 2008 the 16 year-old teenage version of Taylor gave 16 year-old me my first kiss. It was cute and sweet in a very awkward teenager way😂 6 years ago today on Oct. 17th, 2014 we were married🥰 I love our marriage and our babies and the life we’re building together! Swipe for a wedding photo, one of our engagement photos and a picture of us in 2009 when we were just a couple of teenagers and I still hadn’t discovered eyebrows yet😅
This time last year in Europe with our squishy little 2 month old🥰 We made such great memories as a family on this trip! It was a really fun and different experience traveling with a baby. I feel like we connected with people along the way so much more, because they wanted to see and coo over Emmett😊
Getting as much use as possible out of my jeans while I can still button them..barely😅 I avoided buying maternity last pregnancy because it was summer so i could get away with just wearing dresses. This time I want to invest in a good pair so if anyone has any favorite brands for maternity jeans, I’d love to hear about them! #16weekspregnant
Eating while pregnant - It can be stressful as a mom to balance eating well with feeling sick and tired, trying to manage weight gain and also prioritizing your mental health and what makes you feel good. What has worked well for me is trying my best to get a variety of nutrients from lots of healthy foods throughout the day like vegetables, lean meats, fruit and fish, and then not stressing too much about dessert. I have such a sweet tooth and am 100% not down for a life without dessert, especially in the fall when all I want to do is bake apple crisp and pumpkin cookies! As long as I’m also getting a lot of good, nutritious food for me and the baby, I feel good. I love to end the day with a treat, but eating a donut every night sounds excessive and I know wouldn’t make me feel good. So usually I’ll have something on hand that feels like a treat but isn’t full of processed sugar. Lately it’s been a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice every night and it is SO. GOOD🍊 This is what I do during the 2nd & 3rd trimesters. For the first trimester I’m so sick that it is 100% about survival😆 If the only thing that sounds good is a bagel, then I’m having a bagel for lunch and just hoping I can keep it down. During that phase I’m really proud of myself if I eat ANY veggies at all because they usually make me too sick! Everyone is different and it’s all about listening to your body and figuring out what works for you. But this is what I do!😊
We went on a fall walk in the mountains this morning, and it was SO beautiful and made even better by the pumpkin cheesecake muffins we brought with us😆 I linked the recipe in my stories, so good!! Now we are home and headed to church, and then we are going to make butternut squash bisque for dinner😊Why is fall food the best??
Can’t believe we’re going to have a BABY GIRL!!! Girl moms, what are some of your favorite things about having a daughter?? I’m so excited for Emmett to have a little sis🥰💕 I told Tay that when he and Emmett go golfing me and our daughter are going to go have a spa day. He said nope, she’s going golfing with them too and I’m invited if if I want😂 We’re so excited to have this little girl in our family💕
Baby Cook is a GIRL!!!!💗💕 we can’t wait to meet our little sweetheart!!🌹🌷@jtaycook
Pregnancy Update: I’m 14 weeks pregnant now, and officially in the second trimester! My morning sickness has gotten MUCH better, but I do sometimes feel sick still. With Emmett by this point it was completely gone. The bump is starting to make an appearance👉🏼 Although some mornings it’s barely there, it’s weird how it comes and goes for awhile. I think I felt baby move a couple of times in the last few days! I felt Emmett at exactly 18 weeks, which was kind of early considering I had an anterior placenta (in the front) which usually means you won’t feel them till after week 20. They say with your second pregnancy you can feel the baby earlier since you know what to look for, and this time the placenta is posterior which also helps. I hope so because feeling the baby is my favorite and also brings so much peace of mind! I haven’t had any more serious bleeding, just spotting for the last few days. The hematoma is still there and I’m on modified bed rest, which according to my doctor basically means no lifting, no exercise, no walking/standing for long periods of time, etc. I’m feeling a little anxious about everything still but hopeful and excited too😊 We’ll announce the gender in the next couple of days! #14weekspregnant #secondtrimester #subchorionichematoma sweater is from @sezane ❤️
I have received so many beautiful messages and comments and I’m feeling really overwhelmed with gratitude for the support and love from so many of you. A lot of you experienced something similar during your pregnancies, and hearing your stories has been so helpful for me. This whole thing has been really scary but knowing everything turned out okay for a lot of you gives me confidence, so thank you for sharing that with me. I was scheduled to see my obgyn on Wednesday, but I talked to them this morning and they want me to come in today. So I will let you know how it goes!🤞🏼❤️
We had a bit of a scare this weekend at home when I had very heavy bleeding out of no where. It was terrifying and honestly, Taylor and I both thought we’d lost the baby and I was miscarrying, there was so much blood. We went to the ER and after an agonizing hour, they took an ultrasound and we saw our baby, still moving, heart still beating. I can’t even describe the relief we felt in that moment. I have what is called a subchorionic hematoma, which can occur when the placenta dislodges partially from the uterus wall. Hopefully it will resolve on its own🙏🏼 The doctor told me to take it easy for the next while and I have another appointment next week to monitor everything. We’re feeling anxious but also so relieved that baby is still doing okay. We’re grateful because we know we easily could have walked out of the hospital with a much different outcome. We’re praying everything will go well and I will keep you updated❤️🙏🏼
A simple hair style that requires minimal effort is always a win for me! I’m loving having my hair a little darker, it’s nice to change it up every now and then. I’m one of those people that does the same thing for years and agonizes over even the most subtle hair changes, so doing this was a big deal for me! @jzstyles.co
This was the first time I’ve ever been apple picking, and it was SO. Fun!! For all of us! These honey crisp apples are so delicious and there is just something about picking them ripe off the tree yourself. I feel like activities like these are getting more popular, possibly because of Instagram? Idk what do you think? But I think it’s such a good thing, because in previous years I never thought to go do things like this and they make such wonderful family memories. When I picture our family with all of our kids, I always imagine taking them to do activities like apple picking and berry picking. It’s just so wholesome and great for every age.
