As you get older, different things matter. Finding opportunity in uncertainty. This is Ketut, a well known healer in Bali. My experience with him was absolutely insane, painful, and like nothing I could have EVER imagined experiencing. Having said that, I would recommend him to anyone! I’m the type of person that lives for adventure and new experiences, and not being able to travel has meant the adventurous side of my life is much harder to fulfill. But I’ve found new ways to fill the gap like going on mini road-trips during the day - just driving to to see where we end up, or hiking new trails, trying new creative hobbies, etc. Next thing on the bucket list is learning ceramics! Attraction is a Reflection 𓁹 It’s so important to start the day in a positive, abundant mindset to set the tone for the rest of the day - although it may seem difficult to train ourselves to think this way these days. A big part of having a sense of lack for some people might be social media. We scroll through photos of beautiful places, perfect homes, seemingly perfect lives and it makes it easy to believe the grass is greener on the other side. When we embrace the sense of lack we miss opportunities. There is a science to this which makes the Law of Attraction seem less mystical. The Reticular Activating System (RAS) is responsible for filtering our brains to ensure it doesn’t become overloaded with information. It filters the world through the parameters you give it, and your beliefs shape those parameters. As a result it blocks information that doesn’t resonate with our current way of thinking. The bottom line is that if we focus on what we have rather than what we lack, and expand our minds to greater horizons, the universe will reflect this light back on us and our RAS will change the way it filters that information. That’s the magic of the abundance mindset! That’s the secret of attracting more of what you want and less of what you don’t. So keep pretty thoughts in your head as often as you can. 👁🦋👁

Remember when getting dressed up and going out was a thing? Lol I barely remember what it feels like to wear a tight dress. I’ve been living in either sweats or swimsuits since March and I don’t know about you but since lockdown my sweatpant collection has gotten out of control. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Here’s a throwback to Feb 15th (Valentines Day weekend) when Denis and I decided to go for dinner without making reservations (big mistake). Anyone else feel like you’ve changed with all that’s happened during the past several months? This experience has gifted me an abundance of time for reflection and travelling deeper within. It’s given me a chance to analyze what I spend my time doing. I’ve been able to throw light on what gives me power and what no longer serves me (or never did in the first place). If you’ve been wondering where I’ve been lately (since I’ve distanced myself from social media) I’ve been enjoying moments and discovering my balance - my happy place. I really feel that by being in this headspace I’ve created a deeper intuitive bond with myself; I’m at a place where I am more in-tuned with how certain things make me feel, whether it’s a decision I make, an experience, or the food I consume. I’ve been changing my daily habits to ensure I stay in my happy place. I encourage you to take time from your day to simply sit, away from electronics and distractions. It’s a meditative experience and I believe it’s a great way to support your mental health and reconnect with the power within you and Mother Earth. If you can sit in nature, take deep breaths, and simply just enjoy that moment, it will make your heart smile. 🌻

Happy Saturday! 💛 Tonight we will be experiencing the grand finale of the lunar eclipse season with a Full Moon in Capricorn and Sun in Cancer. 🌝 It’s unusual to have 3 lunar eclipses in a single lunar month but that sums up what a metamorphic year 2020 has been. During this time my mind has been taking many trips down memory lane. In one of my latest posts I touched on how there are many ways we can improve our overall health without it costing a thing - just a bit of our time and attention. Today I‘d like to speak on the subject and science behind “grounding” or “earthing therapy”. I’ve always been one to love walking barefoot in nature because of the way it makes me feel - a sort of sense of freedom and connectivity to earth. It wasn’t until now that I discovered the science behind grounding and it’s benefits. 🜃 As I’ve expressed before, I love when science gives validity to a “spiritual” belief or practice. This soundness gives more reason to practice such rituals! 🜃 Simply put, the earth has its own electromagnetic field, as do our bodies. When our bare feet connect to the earth, potent antioxidants - in the form of free electrons - are released into our bodies. This provides our bodies with a range of healing effects including the clearing of damaging and disease-causing free radicals, decreasing inflammation, increasing energy levels, and offering beneficial changes to your heart rate. 🜃 To experience significant changes in your health, sit or walk with your bare feet on the earth for at least 40 minutes per day! 🜃 According to biophysicist James Oschman, “Earthing is the easiest and most profound lifestyle change you give to yourself.” So the next time someone asks you why you aren’t wearing shoes you can tell them that the earth’s electrons are healing your body and ask them to join you! Side note: If the weather conditions or other factors are preventing you to do this there are alternatives such as grounding shoes, mats, and sheets you can invest in.

They say the best things in life are free and I believe that now more than ever. Last night I was feeling emotional about what’s happening in world right now. Not just relating to the virus but also the way our society is. I’m recognizing how important it is to really take our overall health into our own hands, especially as we live in a society that creates an intense amount of stress, fear, and confusion when it comes to nutrition. In the midst of the hectic busy lives we live, sometimes we forget to take care of the very thing that keeps us alive, our bodies, and to top it off we are destroying another important ‘organ’ that keeps us alive, the earth. This morning I sat outside while I studied my reading materials for my holistic nutrition course. I’m acknowledging that a lot of things that feed our health (besides food) are simple, free, and just require a little bit of our time and attention. For example, simply being outside for an hour in the sun everyday is vitally important for our overall health. During this time of self isolation remember to get outside and take some deep breaths; give yourself some fresh air and vitamin D from sunlight to keep your body and mind strong, and your energy light. Choosing to be gentle means being free from violence, bullying, and hate. When individuals display harsh behaviour they are coming from a place of weakness. Their shortcoming leads them to attempt to control, manipulate, overpower, condescend, criticize, demean, and so on. When you’re authentically gentle, you’re not looking to gain power over someone or something, you’re just you, being you, at your best, at your happiest, your most supportive, most giving, most inspired self. So the next time you feel like someone is bullying you, instead of retaliating and stooping down to their level of weakness, just remember they are likely merely projecting the way they feel about themselves onto you; they are projecting their weakness. I generally feel sorry for the people who spend their lives trying to make others feel badly about themselves, when they should be looking within themselves to discover what is causing them to behave that way, and dealing with fixing that part of them. The world is a quantum field that we are all connected to. The more your bring people up and the more positive you are in general, the more you bring up the vibration of everything around you, including yourself. 🌺 #bekind #begentle

That Bali glow/sweat 😅 Sitting on the edge of the cliff at @bulgarihotels in Uluwatu just in awe by the beauty of our planet, once again. 🌎 This resort quickly made it to one of my top favourite places to visit, not only because of the location, but the details that went into making this place so stunning and unique. The incorporation of winding cobble stone roads, aromatic flowers, and colours that blend into the landscape ~ perfectly complimenting the scenery surrounding it ~ 🌺 I’ve always had such an appreciation for the thought that goes into making something special. The little details that create magic. To me that is art - seeing the creative abilities we have as humans and being inspired by it. @bulgarihotels in Uluwatu is just that, a magical work of art on the cliffs of Uluwatu. For me it’s the simple things: family, good company, spending time in nature, healthy food, sunshine, animals, exercise (mental and physical), helping others, and balance. Did you know that meditation is just as much scientific as it is spiritual? I feel like when a lot of people hear the word meditation they associate it with spirituality and maybe don’t fully grasp or believe in the effects it can have.
